2007 IFMAR 1/8th scale Worlds – Preview

Finally from France, racing for Luxembourg, is multiple World Champion Adrien Bertin, the Kyosho racer will perhaps be debuting the CRF .21 motor at this event which is meant to have really good fuel consumption, important for 10 minute qualifiers. Robert Pietsch is 2007 German Champion

…from the back of the grid meaning he would have to push from the start. With the race underway Pietsch could take the lead, but with Salven pushing hard he couldnt afford to relax, that was until Michael went off and with the motor starved of fuel sitting upside down, it stalled, which lost him 2 laps and so began another recovery drive. By the end of the race Salven had recovered to 3rd only a few seconds behind 2nd placed finisher Oliver Mack for Mugen, while the win went to Pietsch, driving the prototype Shepherd Velox. Daniele Ielasi wins French EFRA GP

The French EFRA GP was held last weekend at the super fast Grenoble track in the South of France, near Lyon. Weather was good for most of the event and on a track that required a fast engine that was not thirsty on fuel it was Kyosho racer, and Picco employee, Daniele Ielasi that took the pole position ahead of Alberto Picco, racing a Mugen, while the final 2 direct qualifiers were Shepherd Velox racer Robert Pietsch in 3rd and French Championship front runner Nicolas Guillot racing for Mugen in 4th. Pietsch maintains perfect score in South Germany

Last week we reported on the 1/10th scale results from the 3rd round of the South Germany regionals in Rosenheim, which saw Robert Pietsch take the win for Xray. Robert was also in action in the 1/8th scale class at the same event, and the Novarossi team driver, who has won the first 2 rounds, showed once again that he is in top form. Robert Pietsch takes German South Rd2

Following on from his win in the 1st round of the Southern German regionals, and his podium spot at last months Swiss GP, Robert Pietsch was once again in top form taking the win at the 2nd round of the regional championships, held last weekend in Türkheim. The Shepherd Velox driver claimed the TQ spot after 6 rounds of qualifying on his way to setting a new track record, while Andreas Hammerl, driving for Kyosho, lined up 2nd followed by Euro-B Vice champion Eric Dankel in 3rd. Alberto Picco wins Swiss EFRA GP

Italian Mugen racer Alberto Picco has won this weekends Swiss GP held at the huge Lostallo track. Having qualified in 4th position, Picco managed to win the 45 minute final by 1 lap ahead of German Kyosho driver Stefan Hanauer who, at the end of the final, was only 2 seconds ahead of fellow German driver Robert Pietsch racing the ever improving Shepherd Velox. Robert Pietsch dominates Rd1 German Region South Series

Last weekend, the MAC Nürnberg hosted the first round of the German Region South Series at their track, the Nürnberg Zollhausring. The event was open to both 1/8th and 1/10th scale classes and in the 1/8th scale class it was Robert Pietsch, driving the new Shepherd Velox prototype, that took the pole position ahead of Kyosho racer Andreas Hammerl who qualified 2nd with Philip Eberle in 3rd.
