Xray Xmas Race – Announcement

The Xray Xmas Race will be held at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia on the 28th of December. The event kicks off with free practice on the 27th, allowing drivers to dial in their Christmas presents and 2020 rides with the race being held according to the XRS Slovakia set of rules, however the event does not count towards the championship but instead being a stand-alone race open to everyone. Classes run include 1/10th and 1/12th scale electric on-road as well as 1/10th electric off-road and more information can be found here.

David Snee TQs & wins at NEAM Winter Series Rd2

Round 2 of the NEAM Winter Series was held in the UK last weekend with new Schumacher signing, David Snee taking the TQ and win in the 2WD Buggy class. Eugene Galley came in 2nd, some six seconds down as Tyler Liddle completed the all-Schumacher top 3 results in front of Keian Cox and Stu Wood.

2019 VRC-Pro Modified class Worlds – Announcement

VRC Racing have announced the 2019 VRC-Pro Modified class World Championships will be held this coming December. During three weeks of action-packed virtual RC racing this year’s worlds will see Nitro and Electric, On-road and Off-road racing as well as everything in between with Rally-X and also Nitro and Electric NASCAR Truck oval racing.

Adam Johnson wins at Factory Racing League opener

The opening round of the Factory Racing League was held at the Ohio R/C Factory in Jeffersonville, Ohio, attracting nearly 80 entries. In Pro 1/8th E-Buggy it was Tekno RC’s Joey Bourdon with the overall TQ, however after the double A-main events it was Serpent’s Adam Johnson with the overall win courtesy of coming out on top in A1 and A2 as Joey had to settle for 2nd overall. Xray’s Jeff Switzer came in 3rd to round out the podium in front of Tristan Beiter.

Lee Martin wins at Louis XVI Offroad GP

The Louis XVI Offroad GP was held in Islikon, Switzerland over the weekend, attracting some of the fastest national off-road racers and guests from abroad. One of them, UK’s Lee Martin (Yokomo) would take the overall TQ in the 2WD Buggy class, leaving behind Yokomo teammate, Fabian Luca Widmer in 2nd after the tie-breaker. The triple A-mains then saw a clean sweep of Ryan who scored wins in all three legs for the overall from Fabian in 2nd and Kay Frehner (Xray) in 3rd.

Ryan Maifield wins at The Nitro Compound Points Series

The Nitro Compound of Maricopa, Arizona hosted a round of their Points Series last weekend. The Open Nitro Buggy class saw Mugen’s Ryan Maifield taking the overall TQ and he would also sweep the 20-minute A-main event, taking the win a lap in front of Xray’s Tanner Stees as Mugen’s Mike Truhe came in 3rd to round out the podium some 5.7 seconds in front of 4th place finisher, Tommy Hinz.

Muchmore Impact FD2 4S LiPo battery packs

Coming from Muchmore are two new Impact Linear FD2 series 14.8V 4S LiPo battery packs with XT60 connectors for 1/8th scale applications. First up is a 6500mAh variant that measures 138x47x47.5mm and weighs in at 545g. It is built using 100C cells and comes pre-wired with XT60 power and XH balance connectors. Also new is a low-profile 5200mAh pack that measures 138×46.5×36.mm at a weight of 452g. Using the smaller capacity pack will kill some runtime but the lower centre of gravity comes in handy especially on higher grip tracks. Like the 6500mAh battery it comes pre-wired with an XT60 power and XH balance connector.

Boggs & Watson win at ROAR Region 6 regionals

Flowood Indoor R/C Park of Flowood, Mississippi held the 2019 ROAR Region 6 Regionals this past weekend, attracting over 60 entries. In 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was Blake Boggs (Team Associated) with the win, a lap in front of TQ holder “Little Chicken” (Team Associated) as 3rd place qualifier, Kody Watson (JQ Racing) retained his P3 qualifying position some three laps. In the Under 17 ranking it was Kody Watson who would bring home the win and thus his second podium result.
