Tebo opens Reedy title defence with first round win

Reedy Race Champion Jared Tebo has opened his title defence with a win in the first race of the 26th running of the iconic event. Starting from pole position with Ty Tessmann alongside, Tebo and the Canadian would go at it for the full 5-minutes with Dakotah Phend joining the battle for what was the most exciting race of the opening round.  A mistake by Tebo would allow Tessmann to go to the front until he then had a moment handing the lead back to Tebo.  In the end the Top 3 would cross the line covered by less than 3/10th of a second.  In the second encounter, Spencer Rivkin took the win over Ryan Maifield, Maifield having started from pole position but dropped down the order after any early mistake in the centre rhythm section.  The third race saw the No.4 starting Ryan Cavalieri avoid contact between early leader Shin Adachi and young French driver Clement Boda and once in front the Reedy Race’s most crowned champion pretty much controlled the race.

Castle Creations 2028 Extreme 800kV sensored BL motor

Castle Creations have introduced their new 2028 Extreme 800kV sensored brushless motor for large scale applications. The 4-pole 12-slot motor is of an updated design for improved efficiency and less heat build-up. Running modes include sensored and an ultra-efficient sensorless mode and high-strength, high-temperature grade neodymium sintered magnets combined with high-strength Kevlar wrap ensure the integrity of the rotor is not compromised during harsh running conditions. In addition do oversized NMB bearings and a vibration dampening system ensure the longest bearing life possible. Castle’s proprietary winding techniques also allow to produce a stator assembly that is the lowest possible resistance, resulting in a cooler running motor and dual sensor ports ensure optimal installation in pretty much every large-scale vehicle such as the Losi 5ive-T, 5ive-B or DBXL-E.

Yokomo roll out new YZ-2CAL3/DTM3 alloy optionals

Coming from Yokomo and made for the YZ-2CAL3 and DTM3 buggies are new aluminium steering and rear suspension optionals. Starting with the front of the car, new are aluminium bellcranks, a centre link and a bellcrank base, all machined from high-quality aluminium and featuring a black surface coating for wear and looks. The parts are direct replacements for the standard kit items but due to being stronger, they help to improve steering emphasis especially on high-bite surfaces. The bellcrank set, steering link and steering base come separately and they will hit stores very soon. Also new is an aluminium rear upper arm mount for the YZ-2DTM3. It matches the wide suspension mount standard of the dirt spec buggy and due to its geometry it optimises the camber change during suspension compression. The part offers three inner ballstud mounting positions and it come machined from high-quality aluminium and with a black surface coating. Last but not least is an aluminium rear hub carrier set that was designed to support 3mm outer suspension pin setups. The multi-piece rear hubs feature separate camber link ballstud mounts, allowing to easily adjust the turnbuckle length while vertical ball studs make roll centre adjustments a breeze. The set includes composite inserts to change the suspension pin height and using the alloy rear hubs will increase traction on a variety of surfaces while adding overall rigidity and stability.
