Turner, Westergaard & Drake win at JBRL NS Rd6

Round 6 of the JBRL Nitro Off-Road Series was held at Central Valley R/C Raceway in Madera, California last weekend, attracting nearly 120 entries. In the premier Expert Buggy class it was Xray’s Kyle Turner with the overall TQ from Jake Mayo in 2nd. In the 20-minute A-main event Kyle would lead the way, taking the win a lap in front of Mugen’s Adam Drake as Tekno RC’s Carlos Arredondo came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Jason Nugroho wins Indonesia Buggy Nationals Rd2

The 2nd round of the Indonesia Buggy Nationals was held last weekend at the Banana RC Track, Batam Island with a total of 25 drivers having attended the event. The race format was six rounds of 10-minute qualifying with the four best to count. In the end it was Jason Nugroho (HB Racing/Ninja) with the overall TQ honours and he also came out on top in the 60-minute A-main event, leaving behind Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/Ninja) and John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.) in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Sharpe-Simkiss wins at PDMCC Summer Series Rd8

Round 8 of the PDMCC HB Racing Summer Series was held this past weekend. In the 22-minute Nitro Buggy A-final it was top qualifier, Chris Sharpe-Simkiss (SWorkz) with the win from Allan Ward (HB Racing) some eleven seconds behind. Vincenzo Zuccarelli (Mugen) would complete the top 3 podium result a lap down.

Machined from high-quality 3mm carbon fibre the arm is 0.5mm thicker than the standard part for improved durability and crash resistance. It is a direct fit and understood to match the stock steering geometry.

Ogden & Bornhorst win at 2019 Southern Nationals

The 2019 Southern Nationals were held in West Monroe, Louisiana this past weekend, attracting 400 entries for the usual mix of nitro and electric 1/8th off-road classes. In the premier Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst with the overall TQ from HB Racing’s Cole Ogden in 2nd place after the qualifiers. The 45-minute A-main event then saw Cole taking the win some two laps in front of HB Racing’s Spencer Heckert as Joe Bornhorst had to settle for 3rd overall, another 18.5 seconds down. Tyler Hooks and Dillon Caldwell came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Samix Enduro rear aluminium shock plate

Coming from Samix are the new rear aluminium shock plates for the Element RC Enduro trail truck. Machined from high-quality aluminium and coming anodised in black or gun metal colour for wear and looks, the shock stays offer increased rigidity as well as six different shock mounting locations, allowing to fine-tune the suspension setup to the driver’s liking. The parts come with laser-etched Samix logos and all needed hardware, such as aluminium shock standoffs.

Jon Hazlewood takes EFRA 40+ Nitro Buggy title

The 2019 EFRA 40+ 1/8th Nitro Buggy European Championship was held at the LA Speedway in Landshut, Southern Germany this past weekend. After the four rounds of qualifying it was Simon Reeves with the overall TQ from his fellow countrymen Jon Hazlewood and Simon Willets. Peter Harder from Denmark came in 4th as Daniel Reckward and Andreas Bartels from Germany completed the top 6 results for now. The semifinal B then saw Jon taking the win while in the semi A it was Simon Willets with the fastest time as top qualifier, Simon Reeves only came in 10th, meaning he would not earn a spot in the 45-minute A-main event. The latter was a very close affair and was ultimately won by Agama’s Jon Hazlewood who left behind Mugen’s Stephane Deroch from France, only 2.6 seconds behind. Xray’s Peter Harder came in 3rd, only 0.5 seconds behind Stephane.

Avid B74 -2mm rear carbon fibre shock tower

Avid have introduced a rear carbon fibre shock tower in -2mm configuration for the Team Associated B74 buggy. The shock stay is made from 100 percent carbon fibre and designed to limit the shock up travel to keep the dogbone from hitting the outdrives at full compression. It is machined from 4.0mm thick carbon fibre, matches the stock shock angles and has two small drill holes under the centre hole of the wing mount for notification.
