Counsil & Myerson win at King Of Carpet race

The 2019 King Of Carpet race was held at 702 Raceway in Las Vegas, Nevada, attracting nearly 140 entries. 13.5T 4WD Buggy saw Antonio Counsil making a clean sweep, taking the overall TQ and also the win in A1 and A2 for an early overall in front of Kyle Schmer in 2nd and Justin Myerson in 3rd.

Swedish National Cup Rd3 – Report

The Örebro club played host to round 3 of the Swedish Electric Off-road National Cup this past weekend. Changing, and mostly wet, weather conditions made things pretty challenging for the drivers and especially the club who did his best to prepare a race-worthy dirt track. In the 2WD portion of the event it was HB Racing’s Elias Johansson with the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the triple A-mains, taking the win from Team Associated’s Wilhelm Skjöldebrand and Schumacher’s Rasmus Karlsson.

Teppo Kauppinen takes Finnish E-Buggy title

The fourth and final round of the Finnish 1/8th E-Buggy Nationals was held at the Vaasa track this past weekend. Teppo Kauppinen was one of the pre-event favourites going into the final round and in order to bring home the championship he would have to score nothing less than the win. Things started pretty promising for Teppo who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers and in the end he also brought home wins in A1 and A2 for the day’s win and with it the overall championship title.

Burak Kilic wins German Nitro Buggy Nationals Rd1

The opening round of the German 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals was held at the BIG Hamburg track this past weekend. The event had over 160 entries and it was the Agama duo of Burak and Berkan Kilic who battled it out in the qualifiers with Burak holding the upper hand over his younger brother while SWorkz’s Jörn Neumann and Mugen’s Carsten Keller came in 3rd and 4th after the qualifiers. After dominating qualifying, the Burak and Berkan show continued into the finals, with a P1 and P2 finish. They raced each other very hard with nothing between them for most of the final, while Carsten Keller completed the top 3 podium result, already a lap down. The decisive second and final round of the nationals will be held at the MSC Ober-Mörlen track in two week’s time.

Kyosho Lazer ZX7 alloy centre driveshafts

Kyosho have announced the release of 7075 aluminium centre driveshafts for the Lazer ZX7 4WD buggy. Machined from aircraft grade alloy and coming with a black surface coating for wear and looks, the centre dogbone driveshafts are available in 88mm, 77.5mm, 71.5mm and 68.5mm specifications. Due to their lighter weight compared to the standard steel parts the driveshafts allow for quicker spool-up, making them ideal especially for stock racing classes.

Neil Cragg wins BRCA RallyX Nats Rd4

Round 4 of the BRCA 1/8th Nitro RallyX Nationals was held at the Shrewsbury club this past weekend. SWorkz’s Elliott Boots took the overall TQ for the A-main from the Team Associated duo of Neil Cragg and Jamie Clancy. In the 30-minute A-main event Elliott then suffered a DNF, letting him end the day dead last in the A-main as Neil Cragg brought home the win by 27 seconds from Agama’s Jonathan Skidmore in 2nd. Infinity’s Lee Martin came in 3rd from the Team Associated duo of Matthew and Michael Lewis in 4th and 5th.

West Coast R/C Works 2WD fan shrouds

West Coast R/C Works have announced new additions to their popular fan shroud line in the form of dedicated 2WD buggy fan shrouds. Developed using customer feedback, the newly developed shrouds make maximum use of the tight space available in mid motor 2WD buggies and trucks with three different variants being available. The 2WD buggy fan shroud was designed for the weight conscious Stock racer while the 2WD buggy fan shroud long provides extra cooling for Modified and Stock classes. The third option is the directed fan shroud that provides the most cooling due to the cooling of the front and end bell. The standard and long versions should be installed behind the motor and trimming of the side guard may be required while the directed shroud should be installed on top of the battery.

Buddy Christian wins at JBRL Nitro Series Rd5

Round 5 of this year’s JBRL Nitro Series was held at Wild West R/C in Winchester, California last weekend. In the Sportsman Buggy class it was Brian Kuskie with the overall TQ after the qualifiers, however the 15-minute main final saw Mugen’s Buddy Christian taking the win a lap in front of TLR’s Eric Lara. Dave Wentz (Kyosho) came in 3rd to round out the podium some 4.5 seconds behind Eric. Top qualifier Brian Kuskie had to settle for 4th overall.
