Along with Team Orion on the Kyosho stand is Reckward Tuning, who have some new products including a new line of bodyshells for on road gas cars. Above is the new Lola 1/8th scale called the Expert 8, which follows a conventional shape but unlike the latest generation of 1/8th shells it doesn’t feature the channels above the front lights. Also on the stand is a new 200mm touring car shell based on the Dodge Stratus, as well as the company’s previously released Symbio truggy shell. This past weekend saw many of the top gas racers from around the US descend on the Ft. Myers track for the 5th round of the Florida state Series. This race is seen as a warm up for the Winter Nats with track time used to prepare for this annual international event. Qualifying saw Kyosho racer Robert Maestrey take the TQ spot ahead of Serpent racer Gianni Giorgio in 2nd, while the Xray of Mark Harrison was 3rd just ahead of DJ Apolaro in 4th. Charge RC in Japan have announced the upcoming release of this extra wide bumper for the Kyosho Spada gas powered 1/12th scale. Made from 3mm thick impact resistant material, the bumper extends to the full width of the body shell helping to protect the front end of the car in the event of an accident. …is Motonica racer Masao Tanaka, the Novarossi backed driver finished 3rd in 2001 and was in the final in 2005, so expect another strong performance this time around. Another number of drivers from Europe that could take the win would be Italy’s Danielle Ielasi for Kyosho, 2007 Italian Champion Alberto Picco also racing for Kyosho, another multiple finalist Walter Salemi for Mugen and Serpent driver Andrea Cristiani, expect all the Italian racers in the top 30 at this event. Japanese company Team Honest have released a whole load of carbon parts for Kyoshos 1/12th scale gas powered Pan car, the Spada. The parts include a front upper plate made from 3mm carbon for extra front stiffness, a 2mm thick carbon fibre radio tray, a 2.5mm thick carbon body mount plate, 1.2mm brake plate and 1.5mm thick brake disk from carbon, a 3mm carbon rear upper plate and finally a receiver plate and a battery plate. Kyosho have confirmed to us that their top Japanese Factory racer, and the man behind the TF-5 Stallion Shin edition, Shinosuke Adachi will be present at this weeks European Electric Touring car Championships being held in Montbrison, France to provide support to all Kyosho racers at the event. This marks the first time that Kyosho will sponsor and provide support at an electric event in Europe since the Japanese brand re entered the EP market with the Lazer ZX5 buggy back in 2005.
