Team Associated Factory Team 12mm thin shock pistons

Coming from Team Associated and made for their 12mm 1/10th off-road shocks are new Factory Team thin shock pistons. These thinner shock pistons give less “pack” inside the 12mm shock. Ideal for tuning in all kinds of track conditions, they are particularly helpful on carpet to help improve jump landings. Hole size is machined into each piston for easy identification and they are available in 2×1.6 and 2×1.7 specification. The pistons fit kits such as the RC10B74, B6.1, B6.1D, T6.1, SC6.1, B64, and B64D.

Pro-Line Badlands MX 1/8 buggy tyre

Pro-Line have introduced their new Badlands MX tyre for 1/8th scale bashing buggies. The Badlands tyre is known for having a sweet motocross-inspired tread and the all-new Badlands MX tyres kick that up a notch with a bigger and bolder knobby tread that matches modern MX tyre design. The Badlands MX is a true all-terrain tyre that will find traction on any surface but is best suited for loose and loamy dirt, mud or grass. The tyre fits most 1/8th scale buggy rims and it comes in M2 medium compound.

JConcepts T6.1 & SC6.1 Fin titanium turnbuckle kit

Coming from JConcepts is their new Fin titanium turnbuckle set for the Team Associated T6.1 stadium and SC6.1 short course truck. Designed specifically for style, durability and performance, the base of the shafts design is centered around a .143” titanium hex size which gradually tapers down into a 3mm thread base design which accepts the standard AE ball-cup configuration. The focus of the styling surrounds the lengthened adjustment hex area and the finned cuts that rotate about the center. The turnbuckles are produced with left and right hand threads with the left being conveniently marked for easy orientation.

RC Concept MC5RS 3.5cc off-road engine

RC Concept have introduced their new MC5RS 3.5cc nitro off-road engine. The RS is based on the popular MC5X and MC5 World engines but utilises a new lighter piston for quicker spool-up and higher RPM. In addition a redesigned cooling head makes for a lower centre of gravity while retaining the same heat dissipation capabilities which is important when running in high ambient temperatures. A new black and red looks makes the engine stand out. Other features include an Avid ceramic front bearing, a Swiss-made ceramic main bearing as well as a DLC-coated crankshaft, a double needle carburettor and a piston sleeve. The package is rounded out by 7mm and 8mm venturi inserts. The engine is available separately or including EFRA 2099 or 2133 exhaust systems.

30 Years of Madness Turf Opener – Report

RC Madness of Enfield, Connecticut recently held their 30 Years of Madness Turf Opener race with over 150 entries. The weather was in the driver’s favor with a cloudy yet hot day with brief rays of sun. In 2WD Buggy it was Keith Smart who led flag to flag with the win from Cameron Dopp and Tyler McCormack.

Xray XB8 graphite PB steering block & rear upright LB

Xray have introduced new graphite composite PB steering blocks and rear uprights for the XB8’19 buggy. The lightweight yet strong parts utilise a new graphite composite material that ensures free suspension movement in dusty conditions while also offering increased stability and corner speed on high to very high bite tracks. Both parts are designed for the use with larger 8x16x5mm outer ball bearings for increased reliability and life-span with the front pivot ball steering block being usable for the XB8’19 while the rear upright also fits the GTX8 and GTXE. The parts are non-directional meaning hey are usable both on the left and right hand side of the car and they are available separately.

HNMC Summer Series Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Herts Nitro Model Club Summer Series was held last weekend with almost 50 racers in attendance. In the best three from four rounds qualifying the TQs went to Dylan Saunders in Buggy, Erik Lykke in E-Buggy and Pano Vasipoulos in Truggy. The 20-minute Buggy final then saw Dylan Saunders conserving his qualifying performance, bringing home the win some 24 seconds in front of Tommy Chung as Torben Lundberg rounded out the top 3 a lap down. Over in the 12-minute E-Buggy main it was Erik Lykke with the win from Russ Brown and Holger Lykke. Finally in the Truggy class it was George Miller with the win from Pano Vasipoulos.
