Tamiya F103GT Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 Hybrid

Tamiya USA have announced the RC replica of the Toyota GAZO Racing TS050 Hybrid. The World Endurance Championship race car competed throughout the WEC 2018-2019 season and this specific kit celebrates Toyota’s first ever win at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Tamiya replica sits atop the 2WD F103GT Chassis, which is easy to build and maintain, thanks to its simple 2WD direct drive system with grippy rubber tyres that supply plenty of traction. The chassis’ FRP double-deck frame employs 1.5mm upper and 2.5mm lower decks, cushioned by link-type arm and coil spring left/right independent front suspension. An FRP T-bar is the centrepiece of the rigid rear suspension setup, working in tandem with the friction plate and coil spring unit to provide a smooth drive. The height adjustable gear case allows a range of ground clearance settings, and contains a high-performance ball differential. Front uprights give a 3 degrees caster angle, and are equipped with 850 ball bearings. The kit is set for a release in January 2019.

Xray X1 & X12 eccentric bearing clamps

Xray have introduced their eccentric ball bearings clamps for the X1 and X12 cars. The rear axle mounts allow to adjust the wheelbase for a short and a long setting, differing by 1mm. The black-coated alloy parts do not use composite hubs for the bearings and generally a shorter wheelbase car rotates faster in slow corners and has improved forward traction whereas a longer car is freer in high-speed corners and will feel more linear, especially during fast direction changes. The clamps fit the X1 and X12 cars and they come in pairs.

2018/19 Mibosport Cup Rd2 – Report

The second round of 2018/19 Mibosport Cup was held last weekend in Hrotovice, Czech Republic. The event attracted both national and international drivers of which over 200 made their entry. The most popular classes would be 2WD and 4WD Buggy along a very strong 43 entries for the increasingly popular Formula class. The weekend kicked off with free practice on Friday followed by timed practice and an hour of open practice on Saturday morning for all drivers that missed Friday’s action. In the premier Touring Modified class Oliver Havranek, Matej Sulc, Patrick Gollner and first round winner Zdenko Kunak looked quick from the get go. The biggest challenge was between Oliver and Matej. Oliver did make the pass on Matej in A1, but did not manage to score a good result in A2. Matej however grabbed the important victory in second final and at the end he was the lucky one to stand on the top of Modified ranking list. Patrick Gollner kept Zdenko behind and took at least the 3rd spot while Zdenko Kunak had to satisfy himself with 4th place overall. The top 5 was completed by Andreas Stiebler.

Shepherd Velox V10 Nineteen 200mm nitro on-road kit

Following the “Nineteen” conversion kit for the Velox V10 1/10th 200mm nitro on-road kit, Shepherd now also announced the full Nineteen specification car kit. The car features a new rear axle geometry, making it more controllable when braking even under difficult track conditions or when hard braking is required. This was achieved by a wider rear lower wishbone distance and an updated upper wishbone mount with optimised upper camber link positions. The updated lower wishbone mounts are manufactured from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium while the upper wishbone mounts are milled from high-quality German carbon fibre material. The lower wishbones have been completely redesigned to match the updated geometry and are moulded from high quality plastics. The rear anti-roll bar linkage is located slightly more to the outside of the wishbone for improved responsiveness and softer steering. Furthermore, the 7075-T6 aluminium chassis of the 2019 car has been optimised. Thanks to improved production and milling techniques and a slightly different layout, the chassis bends significantly less, even under heavy loads, which significantly increases its durability. An improved exhaust pipe holder makes the use of different pipe/manifold combinations of all manufacturers significantly easier and more comfortable and high-quality ball bearings with full metal seals complete the changes to the new car. The kit has already proven its capabilities by taking the 3rd place overall at the recent IFMAR 200mm Worlds in Miami, Florida is the hands of Shepherd pilot Edu Escandón.
