Duratrax Punch & Six Pack 1/8th buggy tyres

Duratrax have introduced their new Punch and Six Pack 1/8th buggy tyres. The Punch is ideal for loose, hard-packed wet and damp clay tracks while the Six Pack tread works on pavement, grass and hard-packed dry tracks. All are available unmounted or mounted on white dish, black spoke or black chrome spoke wheels in soft C2 compound and including suitable foam inserts.

Arrowmax 20mm chassis droop gauge

Coming from Arrowmax is their new -3mm to 10mm droop gauge for 1/8th and 1/10th vehicles. Designed for the use in combination with 20mm chassis blocks the CNC-machined alloy gauge comes black anodised and with the company’s signature golden anodised details.

Xray Racing Series Germany – Report

The Panik Raceway in Troisdorf played host to the first race of the Xray Racing Series Offroad in Germany. Over 30 drivers fought for the victory in the two buggy, single truck and single fun classes. Saturday was pretty much washed away but the sun would come out on Sunday, making for good racing conditions on the wet and challenging 250 metre astro turf track. In 2WD Buggy, Luxembourg’s Tom Maquel took the TQ and he also came out fastest in the opening two A-mains to take the overall win from A3 winner, Marcel Schneider and 3rd placed Jens Becker. Paul Siebers and Lukas Ritz would round out the top 5 result.

BRCA Truggy & E-Buggy Nationals Rd4 – Report

Round four of the BRCA Truggy & E-Buggy Nationals was held in South Wales at the Pembrey Racing Circuit. The day’s racing was interesting to say the least. There was heavy rain during the night so the track was wet to start with. The numbers for this meeting as a little disappointing with only 36 drivers turning up. During the booking-in process the sun had come out, but as luck would have it during the drivers briefing it started to rain. The first few rounds of qualifying was wet but the track did dry out very quickly. Once the track had dried out the lap times were getting lower, and true to South Wales Fashion the rain came down again for the last round in qualifying.

David Ronnefalk successful at Bubo Race

The Bubo Race was held at the ARCF 42 track in Boisset Saint Priest, France, over the weekend. HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk made a clean sweep in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class by taking all five qualifying rounds to grab the overall TQ. In the 45-minute long A-main final David was able to conserve his qualifying performance to take the win some two laps in front of HB Racing’s Adrien Bertin while Celian Rousset rounded out the podium result in 3rd, only five seconds short of Adrien and making it a HB Racing/Team Orion 1-2-3 finish.

ROAR 1/8th Electric & 4WD SCT Nationals – Report

The 2017 ROAR 1/8th Off-road and 4WD SCT Nationals were held at Silver Dollar RC Raceway this past weekend. The event drew near 110 entries for the 1/8th E-Buggy, 1/8th E-Truggy and 1/10th 4WD SCT classes and in E-Buggy it was Mugen’s Ryan Maifield who swept the event by TQing all four rounds of qualifying and bringing home the wins in the opening two A-mains to wrap up his third consecutive ROAR 1/8th Electric Buggy National Championship. Xray’s Ty Tessmann would come 2nd place from Team Associated’s Dreighton Stoub in 3rd.

Coming from VP-Pro is a new body shell for the Kyosho MP9E 1/8th E-buggy. It is moulded from tough 1.0mm polycarbonate and meant to be a more durable option than the stock body. It comes clear, untrimmed and including window masks.

Bruno Coelho crowned 4WD Buggy European Champion

The 4WD portion of the 2017 EFRA 1/10th Electric Buggy European Championship, that were held this past week in Italy, culminated with yesterday’s triple A-main legs. After several unpredictable qualifying sessions which saw many of the top drivers make mistakes and fall into difficulty, Portugal’s Bruno Coelho secured pole position in 4WD with three TQ runs while the other rounds being topped by the UK’s Neil Cragg and Italy’s Davide Ongaro.
