EcoPower WP110T & WP120T waterproof servos

Coming from AMain Hobbies’ EcoPower brand are two new waterproof servos. The standard voltage WP110T (0.16s/20.1kg-cm) and WP120T (0.09s/28.8kg-cm) are an ideal upgrade for ready-to-run cars, trucks and rock crawlers and they feature metal gears, dual ball bearings and lightweight upper and lower cases with aluminium centre sections. The WP110T is powered by a cored DC motor while the high-voltage compatible WP120T utilises a coreless motor. EcoPower recommends the WP110T servo for all 1/10-scale applications, while the higher power WP120T would be best suited for heavy monster trucks, 1/8-scale vehicles and crawlers.

Gizmo Racing 2019 Beta touring car kit

Gizmo Racing USA have introduced the latest incarnation of the Gizmo Racing electric touring car kit, called the 2019 Beta. The Beta, in short, is a limited edition replica of the prototype car the team has been running recently.  The car uses the GZ2 suspension components, however it utilises a simplified drivetrain that does away with he infamous double main gear setup in favour of a more traditional setup. Reflex Racing has been approached by many people wanting to be a part of the development of this platform and this is where the new program kicks in. Buyers of the Beta kit will be a part of the development program for the production platform that we will shoot to release in September/ October. Reflex Racing are offering three different levels of the Beta cars in both alloy and carbon versions: a conversion kit, a Beta Kit and a Beta Team Plus kit. The Beta conversion allows racers to turn a GZ2 into a 2019 Beta. The Beta Kit is a 2019 roller kit and the Beta Team Plus kit includes the kit, plus whatever revised items the production kits include and a discount on parts and accessories for the 2019 and 2020 racing season.

Coelho extends ETS lead with Andernach win

Bruno Coelho has extended his points lead in the Yokomo Euro Touring Series, the Xray driver today becoming the first double winner of Season #11.  With the fourth round marking the ETS’ return to Motodrom Andernach in German, rain forecast for Sunday led to the decision to condense the event to run over two days. Initially it looked like Coelho’s first time to the tight technical track was going go give his rivals the opportunity to reduce his lead as he struggled to find a set-up for the layout.  Come qualifying however things changed with him TQ’ing the opening qualifying on Saturday but it was Q2 in the evening that ultimately decided the event.  On a TQ run, in what would be the rocket round, Naoto Matsukura touched the curbing on the last lap which was enough for the Infinity driver to hand Coelho the TQ by 5/100th of a second.  This all but decided the TQ, Matsukura starting today’s action by topping Q3 the time that was no match to the Q2 pace of the night before while Viktor Wilck claimed the final qualifier.  In the opening final, Matsukura clearly had the quicker car but he couldn’t find a way pass until a late mistake by Coelho made him open the door.  With both drivers making mistakes in A2 they finished as they started, meaning A3 wold decide it.  Again Matsukura pressured the reigning champion who jumped the curbing in the centre chicane which was his queue to take the lead but both cars touched, with Wilck coming out the main benefactor and taking the A3 win.  For Coelho luck was again on his side as his A2 win was the faster, giving him the overall win ahead of Matsukura while Marc Rheinard completed the podium ahead of Wilck.

Dennis Weihert wins at German Nats qualifier

The first round of the central region qualifiers for the German 1/8th IC Track Nationals took place this weekend at the Wiesbadener Minicar Club. In qualifying Oliver Mack would claim the TQ in impressive style. First setting a new track record in Q2 he then managed to go even faster in Q4. With rain on the forecast causing the final to be reduced to 20-minutes, Oli was pulling away from the field but he stopped at the 12-minutes mark due to an engine failure. Dennis Weihert, who qualified 5th, was able to take over the lead and from there he never looked back to take the win.

Alexander Hagberg joins BR1 team

During this weekend’s Euro Touring Series fourth round in Andernach, Germany, Bruno RC, the brand of multi-class talent and round 4 winner, Bruno Coelho, has announced the signing of former IFMAR World Champion, Alexander Hagberg to the BR1 team. Alexander will be using Bruno RC’s BR1 brand servos in his Xray rides from now on and he had the following to say:

It was a natural move for me to join the BR1 brand. I know that Bruno’s objective with the brand is very professional, and it will also further improve our team work, as we will work from the exact same platform. My initial impression after testing the servo was very positive. The steering feel is very natural, with good response, as a result of the low CG integrated mount, which also saves a lot of weight – something that is very important mainly due to the new weight limit rules of the ETS. The BR1 servo is definitely the best servo for our T4 platform, as it’s designed with this car in mind. I am looking forward to using this and other BR1 products in the future!

Coelho resists another Matsukura challenge to take A2

Bruno Coelho resisted another challenge from Naoto Matsukura to take a tone to tone win in the second of the A-Mains at ETS Andernach.  Having let Matsukura through in A1 after touching the curbing, Coelho would have a moment in A2 also, but just beforehand Matsukura had dropped back with a moment of his own.  Right on the bumper of the Xray, the Infinity driver looked to make a late inside pass in the chicane but he went over the curb and rolled allowing Coelho to take it by close to 2-seconds.  As he did in the first encounter, Marc Rheinard would make up one position to complete the Top 3, this time ahead of Alexander Hagberg.
