Motonica P8.0R and P8.0 Classic kits

Motonica P8.0R

Motonica, who made their debut at last years Nürnberg toy fair, have announced that they will release an updated version of their P8.0, called the P8.0R. The R features a few small updates like a news chassis with shorter wheelbase from 295mm to 292.5mm, more shock mounting options and a different rear body mount that allows you adjust the angle of the a-arms, similar to the Serpent 960. What is rather strange is that Motonica will release a flat pan (no suspension) Classic kit, called P8.0 Classic obviously enough. This class is really only raced in France and a handful of other neighboring countries so it seems like an odd option to build one. There are also some pictures with the name P8.0 base, but i cant figure out if these are showing the P8.0R without some parts or its a completely different car. More will be known after Nürnberg.

Xray NT1 wins first event

Xray NT1 wins first event

Last weekends Florida State series race held at the Ft Myers track, dubbed the Winternats Warm up race, was won by the all new Xray NT1. Making its debut in the hands of Xray team drivers Barry Baker and Ralph Burch, the car went on to win the regional race in the hands of Baker.

After successful long term tests by XRAY factory team drivers from Europe and USA at the XRAY’s private racing tracks the NT1 has confirmed its best performance and racing pedigree just at its first race. NT1 – the art of performance.

A good start for the NT1, but we will have to wait to see it compete on the big stage before we see the true potential of this car.

Martin Hudy tests Xray NT1

Martin Hudy tests Xray NT1

Our partner site RC Forum have got these images of Martin Hudy, testing the NT1 at the Xray text track in Slovakia. Whilst nothing is given away by the pics, it is nice to see that there is a working prototype at least. The most interesting thing about these images is not really the car at all but the rather cool new Xray t-shirt that Martin is shown wearing, featuring that kind of blue flame thats on their boxes all over it.

Check out the 2 pictures in full size here.

Xray NT1 first picture

Xray NT1 first picture

Our partners RC World have ‘obtained’ this image of the Xray NT1. I have an idea of how they got it too, i had the same idea but i didn’t have the correct tools. Anyway we can see a lot more of the car and from the looks of things its a pretty standard configuration but does look very low. Rumors are that this car will make its race debut at the Winternats prior to its launch in the Spring.

Xray NT1

Xray have confirmed, on their site, their entry into the nitro touring car market that we Red RC predicted back in November. Their new 200mm touring car will be called the NT1 and well little else is shown in their introduction movie, except that it should see the light of day next Spring.

You can view more info about the non RTR G4S here.

Contrast Neo Mark 2

Contrast Neo Mark 2

Those of you who have been following Red RC will notice a distinct lack of fifth scale cars on this site. Now its not that i think only lesser skilled humans race them or something, because we know a certain Mr. Collari is a big fan, but i just never understood the attraction, the sound is all wrong and the speed isn’t all that. So today, as it is a sloooow news day, i am posting images of the Contrast Neo Mark 2, the latest and greatest in lawn mower fifth scale racing technology.

Jokes aside, this thing does looks pretty sweet and sports some nice looking features from the Spanish company Contrast, so if your into the bigger things in life, check out the full picture set here.

Xray to release 1/10th 200mm & 1/12th Pan car!

Xray Rumours

Rumours abound this time of year with manufacturers nearing their final preparations of new products for the upcoming season. Mostly rumours leak out in the form of sightings at private test sessions or team drivers informing friends or simply a case of wishful thinking. In this instance the rumours regarding Xray’s imminent release of a 1/10th 200mm gas car and 1/12th pan car has come from a number of sources and therefore I believe it to be fact.
