Edam Razor 1/8 scale on-road car

Edam Razor 1/8 scale on-road car

There is a new gas powered 1/8th scale on the market, from the Taiwanese company Edam. Its called the Razor and it has been created from the ashes of the Yusa XR8 project which seemingly stopped some time ago. Apparently featuring all new moulds for precise fitting of parts, as well as making the parts more durable, this prototype car looks like a mashup between a Kyosho Evolva and the Serpent Vector, with a few other parts thrown in for good measure. The company is currently exploring distribution channels so we dont know when it will be available.

BRX-4 Red Ball Classic 2wd

BRX-4 Red Ball Classic 2wd

We’ve only briefly covered the Southern Europe specific Classic 2wd 1/8th scale class before and with the exception of Motonica, who have yet to release their classic model, there are no major manufacturers invloved. But within the class itself there are a number of big names and the French made BRX is one of those names having been making cars in this class, in a 25m2 workshop, for close to 15 years. This latest car, the BRX-4 Red Ball, differs from previous versions due to the new fuel tank (from Motonica) and radio plate, which offers better balance, and the placement of the radio equipment and batteries, as well as the new red colouring throughout.

Team Magic 2007 G4+ LE

Team Magic 2007 G4+ Limited Edition

A while back we showed you a photograph of the new G4+ by Team Magic that our site partners 3hobby managed to get from team driver Darren Johnson. The car may have looked good there but now it looks amazing, the graphic team at Team Magic doing another outstanding presentation job. This G4+ is a limited edition, to celebrate the companies 10th year and Euro’s win and only 999 will be made so its a pretty special car that Team Magic will be delivering, with new packaging and lots of upgrades.

Kyosho Spada 09 – Feature list

Kyosho Spada 09

We first showed the new Spada 09 back in April when Kyosho released a CAD image of this new project, with the first real product picture shown about a month later, just before it was officially shown at the Shizuoka Hobby show last month. Now, through Kyosho France we have a full feature list from this new car and also CAD images showing how the front and rear suspension works, with the rear suspension being an innovative new type that allows the axle bearings to float within the rear bearing blocks.

Guya modular Circuit chassis

Guya Modular chassis

We were sent a link about this car today and while i dont think it can be considered a competition car, it is so bizarre it deserves a mention. The concept of the Italian made Guya, is that those among us who cant decide between a 1/8th or 1/10th scale circuit car can purchase the Guya which will serve all your needs. Tired of racing 1/8th scale, loosen a few nuts, slide the chassis closed, screw in the wishbones, instant 200mm, prefer to race a 2wd or even an electric powered car, again no problem this car has it all. While the car features inboard suspension and a lay down engine, it is more of an engineering excercise than a viable product, and so we will give the maker credit for some new thinking, even if it is to find a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.
