Castle Creations sensored brushless motors

Castle Creations have introduced a range of sensored brushless motors. Known for their popular sensorless “basher” motors, Castle now also steps into the highly competitive sensor game with several different sizes of motors. The range starts with the 41.1mm diameter 15xx-series motors such as the 1515 2200kv, 1512 2650kv and 1512 1800kv variant with the 1515 targeting towards 1/8th buggies, truggies and 1/10th monster trucks while the 1512-series is best suited for 1/8th on-road and off-road vehicles as well as 1/10th 4WD SC trucks.

Off-road Xray Racing Series Australia – Announcement

Xray have announced that the off-road portion of the Xray Racing Series Australia will be held on the weekend of the 11th of December at Castle Hill Off Road RC Club. Classes run are 2WD and 4WD Modified, 2WD and 4WD Stock as well as 2WD Junior Stock, SCT and Stadium Truck. Open practice will be held on Saturday with the qualifier and finals run on Sunday. 2016 Race for Your Lives – Report

2016 Race for Your Lives – Report

This past weekend Track Time Hobbies of Reno, Nevada held their annual Race for Your Lives event. Racers from as far as Arizona made the trek to Track Time Hobbies to race on the latest layout made with some of the most consistent dirt on the West Coast. Nearly 80 entries meant there would be some additional time and this would also allow for an additional 4th round of Ifmar qualifying for the racers who attended along with double A-main formats for the more heavily entered classes. Lower B-Mains were run first allowing the two bump up drivers to bump into their respective A-mains.

Steven Hartson doubles at JBRL Electric Series finale

The 8th and final round of the 2016 JBRL Electric Series was recently held at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, California. In the premier 2WD Open Buggy Steven Hartson would walk away with the win from Jake Mayo and Tyler Fenster but overall in the championship it was Jake who took the title honours from teammate Steven. David Jenson would round out the championship top 3 result.

Tekno SCT-3 & SL high roll centre HRC rear hubs

Tekno have introduced the high roll centre HRC rear hubs for the SCT.3 and SL kits. By lowering the hinge pin location compared to the stock rear hubs the HRC uprights offer a raised the rear roll centre. Using the hubs increase on-power traction and stability while decreasing body roll. All of this with improved rotation into a corner and no compromise in on-power steering. To reduce wear and increase part lifespan, the hubs are moulded from durable nylon and they are for the use on the SCT410.3 and EB48SL vehicles.

Scotty Ernst's Off-road Showdown Tour Rd5 – Report

The fifth and final round of the Off-road Showdown Tour by Scotty Ernst rolled into town hosted by Superior Hobbies/Beachline Raceway this past weekend. Beachline Raceway is an amazing facility housing one of the largest 1/10th indoor scale off-road tracks, and plenty of indoor pitting. The track surface is sealed/glued orange clay making it very unique as it provides plenty of traction and is very consistent from start to finish. The track opened for official practice Friday morning and racers took full advantage as they dialed in their vehicles for the super high bite surface. Practice buttoned up around 7pm giving racers plenty of time for dinner and race day prep.

Utah State Championships – Announcement

Utah State Championships – Announcement

Murf’s Intermountain RC Raceway will play host to the Utah State Championships November 3rd through the 6th. Home of the April Fools Classic, the famous clay racing surface will have a fresh layout for this event. The schedule includes a round of seating practice on Thursday evening, one round of qualifying on Friday, three rounds of qualifying on Saturday and the mains on Sunday. There will be a resort of qualifying after the second round for anyone that can’t make Thursday’s seating practice round. Categories run include Modified and Stock Buggy, Truck and SCT as well as 1/8th E-Buggy. More information including the schedule and rules can be found here.
