Rony parts for Spada and NT1

Rony parts for Spada and NT1

Japanese company Rony have announced the release of some new carbon parts for both the Kyosho Spada and the Xray NT1. The Spada gets a new chassis plate which Rony have made from carbon fibre, replacing the standard aluminium version and therefore saving weight without sacrficing strength, although not sure how heat dissipation will be handled. New for the NT1 is a rather beefy looking 4mm thick carbon fibre rear shock tower, the latest in a long line of companies to try their hand at this part.

Shin Adachi to attend this weeks Euros

Shin Adachi to attend this weeks Euros

Kyosho have confirmed to us that their top Japanese Factory racer, and the man behind the TF-5 Stallion Shin edition, Shinosuke Adachi will be present at this weeks European Electric Touring car Championships being held in Montbrison, France to provide support to all Kyosho racers at the event. This marks the first time that Kyosho will sponsor and provide support at an electric event in Europe since the Japanese brand re entered the EP market with the Lazer ZX5 buggy back in 2005. Kyosho have seen a huge push towards electric classes lately with the introduction of their TF-5 chassis back in 2006 and the release of the Ultima RB5 2wd buggy earlier this year as well as changes within the company that have seen the hiring of Gil Losi Jr in March and the acquisition of Team Orion in May. The smiling man you see in the picture above is just the first step in a larger move towards World domination by Kyosho as already witnessed in the 1/8th scale buggy class since the late 90’s and the gas on road class in the last 6 years.

Kyosho X312T now available

Kyosho X312T now available

We wrote a month ago that the new Kyosho X312T, the .12 motor based on the Team Orion CRF .12, would be made available in Europe on the 10th of July. Well its almost the end of July now, and although its 2 weeks late we have been told that the shipment of engines is now in Europe ready to be sold. The engine, when it was originally badged by Team Orion made quite a splash when it was released, and now that Kyosho has its name on it, and with the engine features some upgrades, expect to see it also making waves, especially when it makes its big time debut at next months European 1/10th Championships in Spain.

Atomic Carbon RB5 Shock Towers – Review

Atomic Carbon RB5 Shock Towers

Our mate oOple has a nice little write up on the Atomic Carbon Kyosho Ultima RB5 shock towers that their team helped co develop, and that we briefly wrote about a while ago. And his conclusion –

Despite running on some of the most demanding tracks in the UK Stu didn’t manage to do more than scratch one of the production Atomic towers so far (touch wood). The 4MM Carbon looks trick and gives the car a new look – but more importantly the additional settings are very useful, especially on the rear – not cheap, but worth it!
