Glenn Phuah wins HPC International ‘07

We briefly mentioned this event in one of our Daily news Round ups the other day but now Xray have a full report from the HPC International, which attracted 60 drivers from all over the region, namely Singapore, Macau, Taiwan and the host country Malaysia. Qualifying saw a comfortable pole position for local Malaysian ace driver David Lim with his Werks-powered Losi, with Singaporean driver Glenn Phuah in an RB-powered Xray 2nd, after the dmap semi finals however Lim was eliminated and wouldnt run in the final. That final began with Hong Nor racer Ah M pulling into the lead after managing to overtake Sam Cheng and Glenn Phuah in the first few minutes of the 45min final. It was a tough final and the lead changed several time times between Sam, Glenn and Ah M. Sam made a slight mistake that gave Glenn an opportunity to take to lead the race leaving Sam to settle for 2nd behind eventual race winner Glenn Phuah, while Danny Teh claimed 3rd.

Rony parts for Spada and NT1

Rony parts for Spada and NT1

Japanese company Rony have announced the release of some new carbon parts for both the Kyosho Spada and the Xray NT1. The Spada gets a new chassis plate which Rony have made from carbon fibre, replacing the standard aluminium version and therefore saving weight without sacrficing strength, although not sure how heat dissipation will be handled. New for the NT1 is a rather beefy looking 4mm thick carbon fibre rear shock tower, the latest in a long line of companies to try their hand at this part.
