Yaniv Sivan wins Israeli League E-Buggy series Rd5

The fifth round of this year’s Israeli League E-Buggy series was held at the Rishpon racing track near Tel Aviv. After three rounds of qualifying Yaniv Sivan took the TQ honours and thus the pole position for the triple A-mains. At the start of A1 Yaniv made a small mistake that saw him drop to 6th while Yaniv Levy, coming from the 2 spot on the grid, took over the lead followed by Amit Bublil. In the closing stages and after a big recovery, Yaniv Sivan was able to close the gap on Levy to take the lead and eventually coming in 1st in the opening A-main. A2 was pretty much a done deal for the TQ holder as Levy ran into tyre issues but was able to hold onto 2nd place while up front Yaniv Sivan would score another win and with it the overall victory.

Aydin Horne sweeps Factory Tracks Invitational

Leisure Hours Raceway hosted the 4th Annual Factory Tracks Invitational in Will County, Illinois this past weekend. While in its fourth year running, each year has crowned a new champion from FTR’s Aydin, Austin, and Allen Horne having all won the overall 2WD/4WD combined championship. The FTR Invitational uses the all out, racing format of the Reedy Race of Champions with points decided by five runs in 2WD and five runs in 4WD allowing for one drop in each class. Running alongside the FTR Invitational was the 2017 JConcepts Shootout, which consisted of the more standard four rounds of qualifying and single A-Main format to decide the winner.

Exotek introduce new D216 CF & titanium options

Coming from Exotek and made for the HB Racing D216 buggy are a carbon fibre side rail set as well as titanium front axles and quick change shock mounts. Starting with the chassis rails, the set is made from high-quality 5mm carbon fibre material and it increases the stiffness of the chassis for sharper handling on all race surfaces. Attached to the chassis the parts also help to seal up the body when used with optional hook and loop straps. The kit also includes heavy duty alloy battery posts and steel hardware but the stock plastic LiPo holders can be trimmed down if it is preferred over the included alloy posts.

VP-Pro MP9 CF options & exhaust retainer set

VP-Pro have introduced two new option parts for the Kyosho MP9 series of buggies as well as an exhaust retainer set for all nitro-powered vehicles. Starting with the MP9 options, available are a carbon fibre front shock tower as well as a centre diff plate for electric-powered MP9 kits. All parts are made to match the kit specifications and they are cut from high-quality carbon fibre. As for the exhaust retainer, the set includes a new mounting spring as well as a machined clamp that prevents the exhaust pipe from coming loose in long mains and when running in bumpy track conditions. The mounting set is usable with most nitro on-road and off-road kits.

Nicky Davies wins at ESBRC Rd1

Round 1 of the ESBRC series was held in Shrewsbury and in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Ash Owen who secured himself the overall TQ after winning two of the three qualifying rounds. In the final Ash made a good start but would make a few too many mistakes before the first pit stop. This allowed Nicky Davies to take the win from Ash in 2nd and Kyle Boon 3rd.

Tasos Paparegas wins Greek Nitro Buggy Nats Rd1

The RC Cannibals track of Athens, Greece played host to round 1 of the National 1/8th Buggy championship this past weekend. Newly crowned Greek National Cup winner, Tasos Paparegas (Xray) would take the win in the main final after being hit by electrical issues in the qualifiers. One lap behind, Agama driver Zagorisos would end on the runner-up spot while SWorkz’ Makropoulos came in 3rd to complete the podium.

Bart Mullink doubles at Mach-One Kick Off race

The Dutch Mach-One club hosted their Kick Off 2017 race over the weekend, attracting some 120 entries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands to compete in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy classes. The 3-days event was held on a high grip astro turf track and Agama driver Bart Mullink would sweep the Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy classes by winning both categories in front of Jeffrey Halsema in 2nd and Jarno Pijpers in 3rd in Nitro Buggy while former World champion Daniel Reckward in 2nd and Colin Meijer in 3rd would round out the E-Buggy podium.

Adam Drake wins Open Truggy at JBRL Nitro Series Rd1

The opening round of the 2017 JBRL Nitro Series was held this past weekend at the Pro-Line Raceway in Banning, California. In the Open Truggy class it was Mugen’s Adam Drake who took the TQ and win, leaving TLR’s Tanner Denney behind in second while Expert Buggy A-main winner, Cody King (HB Racing) had to settle for third.
