Atsushi Hara takes overall TQ at FEMCA championship

The 2016 FEMCA 1/8th Buggy Championship is currently being held at the Southern Alley Track in Johor Bahru, Malaysia with 74 drivers from around Asia and Australia in attendance. After the completion of the seven qualifying rounds Japan’s Atsushi Hara (Kyosho) is sitting on top with fellow country man Wataru Takashiro (Kyosh) coming in second, following some tight battles during the qualifiers. At the end a flameout of Wataru in Q7 lead to another TQ for Atsushi to grab the overall top qualifier position. The all-Kyosho top 3 is rounded out by South Korea’s Dani Choi while Tekno driver Kyle Francis (Australia) completed the top 4 result before the finals that are being held on Saturday.

Carlos Guerra doubles at Bolivian Off-road Nats Rd2

The recent second round of the Bolivian Off-road Nationals saw Xray driver Carlos Guerra walking away with the win in both the Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. Alejandro Alvarez (Tekno) came in second in both categories while Fabian Egüez (Mugen) in Nitro and Edwin Mendoza (Mugen) in E-Buggy rounded out the respective podiums.

Irish 1/8th Off-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The RCCAOI’s first national of the season took place at BADMCC in Northern Ireland and with a decent turn out of drivers. Before the weekend two days of rain made things uncertain for the race days but lucky enough Saturday that yellow dot in the sky came out. Nitro qualifying was a split between Alan Scroggie and Gary Baird both taking two rounds a piece with Alan having the slightest faster time taking the TQ. In E-Buggy Aaron Vance took the TQ followed by Barkley and Gary.

Tekno RC ROAR/IFMAR-legal high downforce wing

Tekno RC have updated their high downforce wing that features new smaller side dams which are now ROAR/IFMAR legal and hole guides for reducing downforce or tuning the wing in high wind conditions. The wing is available in the three colours of black, yellow and white.

Serpent SRX8 1-piece engine mount

Made for the SRX8 1/8th nitro off-road buggy is Serpent’s new 1-piece engine mount. Machined from 7075-T6 aluminium the monobloc mount was designed to increase stiffness around the engine area which results in more consistent gear mesh and also an overall stiffer chassis. The grey anodised part is a direct fit and it come laser-etched with Serpent logos.

Pro-Line E-Revo & Summit Pro-Spline HD driveshafts

New from Pro-Line and made for the Traxxas E-Revo and Summit monster trucks are the Pro-Spline HD centre driveshafts. Made from hardened black oxide coated steel, the Pro-Spline drive shafts have a true 6-sided spline that slides smoothly throughout any chassis flex without having to worry about stripping out like the stock plastic drive shafts. The pins are held in place by fully surrounded steel springs and M3 set screws on both ends to handle extreme performance. They come pre-Assembled and fit both the E-Revo and Summit kits.

Pro-Line Badlands MX28 & new pre-mounted SC tyres

Pro-Line have announced the soon release of their new Badlands MX28 2.8″ monster truck tyre as well as two new pre-mounts for SC trucks. Taking the 2.8″ tyre game to the next level, the Badlands MX28 offers a motocross inspired tread and a bigger and bolder knobby tread that matches modern MX tyre design. A true all-terrain tyre, it find traction on any surface but is best suited for loose and loamy dirt, mud or grass. It comes as pairs including foam inserts and the tyre is also available as pre-mounts on black F-11 wheels for a range of Traxxas and Traxxas-compatible vehicles. As for the short course pre-mounts, the Badlands SC and Trencher X SC 2.2″/3.0″ are now available on black Split Six wheels. The pre-mounts come in two variants each for the front of the Traxxas Slash 2WD as well as the rear of the 2WD, the Slash 4×4 and the HPI Blitz.

New Pro-Line monster & crawler truck bodyshells

Pro-Line have introduced three new monster and crawler truck bodyshells. First up is the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor body for the Traxxas Stampede. It includes all of the scale details of the full-scale truck for a highly detailed yet functional replica of the 2017 rig. Included with the clear body come window masks and a decal sheet and beside the 2-door Stampede variant there also comes a 4-door version tailor-made for Pro-Line’s own Pro-MT monster truck kit.
