Robert Batlle dominates final Spanish Buggy

Robert Batlle dominates final Spanish Buggy

The final round of the Spanish Nitro Buggy National Championship was held this past weekend at the Alhaurin de la Torre track in mixed weather conditions. In the shortened qualifiers Mugen’s Robert Batlle found himself in a battle with Bryan Baldo for the TQ but it was the former World Champion who ultimately came out fastest from his Mugen team mates Bryan and Oscar. The 45 minute main final on Sunday was run in dry weather and on a track prepped with sawdust and the race again had Robert coming out fastest although he again had to defend himself against the fast Baldo brothers with whom he swapped positions several times in the opening stages. Ultimately Robert took the win from Oscar with a 16 seconds margin while Bryan ended the main final one lap down, making it a Mugen/Ultimate 1-2-3 finish. Dani Vega (Agama/Reds Racing) ended the main in fourth place, Joan Carlos Canas (HoBao/O.S.) rounded out the top 5 result. As for the overall championship, Robert Batlle secured yet another one while Oscar Baldo grabbed the runner-up spot. Bryan Baldo in third and Javi Pombo in fourth completed the top 4 result for 2015.

Borden wins at 20th Annual Northwest Gold Cup

Borden wins at 20th Annual Northwest Gold Cup

The 20th Annual Northwest Gold Cup at Tacoma R/C Raceway hosted by Scott Brown had strong competition and epic battles in every class offered. In 17.5 Pro Stock Buggy, Shane Borden and another fast northwest driver Tyler Miller would both get two rounds of TQs but Tyler would get the tie breaker with the extra lap. With the grid set for the triple A-mains, in A1 Tyler would lead from tone to tone to prove his TQ was no joke with a 23/6:04.6 pace. Evan Overmars and Evan Margeson would round out the top 3. A2 was slightly different as Tyler would make a mistake in the first corner allowing Shane Borden to take the lead and control it for the first half of the race. Evan Overmars would eventually catch Shane and apply the pressure causing a small mistake on the infield triple. Evan was able to pass Shane and take the win narrowly by 0.5 seconds, Evan Margeson would finish third.

TLR SCTE 2.0 dogbone centre driveline set

Coming from TLR and made for the SCTE 2.0 4WD short course truck is the dogbone centre driveline set. The front- and rear center dogbones eliminate the friction of a CV coupler and reduce the bind caused after the front centre CV coupler wears. The set utilises shorter and lighter front and rear outdrives in the centre for faster acceleration and longer diff life with today’s power systems while also offering increased longevity due to bone float. The set is designed to fit the standard and -3mm chassis.
