Joe Kerry wins British 1/10th 200mm Nationals Rd3

Round three of the British 200mm Nationals was held at the fast Halifax track. The weather was very good with temperatures around 25 Degrees Celsius and Saturday’s practice saw Joe Kerry setting the pace getting down to 16.0 laptimes, with his best only 0.06 from the lap record. Alex Thurston was second quickest around 0.4 seconds back, just ahead of Matthew Cook who was third fastest. Mark Green wins BRCA 1/8 Circuit Nationals Rd3

The third round of the BRCA 1/8 Circuit National series took place this past weekend at the small, tight and technical track of Adur. Close to the limit for how small of a track a modern 1/8 scale car can race around, this track provides a unique challenge with heavy braking zones, tight hairpins, and a short straight to keep the drivers on their toes. Saturday was dry, warm and perfect conditions for racing, Andy Hastings, Neal King and Tim Wood were setting the pace during practice on Saturday. Sunday morning was a touch colder, but stayed dry through the day.
After four rounds of qualifying Mark Green came out fastest on top of Andrew Hastings and Neal King.

Coelho puts it up to ETS rivals with convincing Italian asphalt win

Coelho puts it up to ETS rivals with convincing Italian asphalt win

Bruno Coelho has put it up to his title rivals by taking a convincing win today at the first asphalt round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Italy. Handed an easy win in A1, the Top Qualifier would wrap up an extra early win in Riccione with another unchallenged win in A2. With the finals run early due to the impending threat of rain at the first outdoor race of ETS Season #9, completing the perfect weekend gives the Xray driver an extended lead in the championship standings as he becomes the season’s first double winner. With Marc Rheinard ending up with a 3rd for Round 4 behind A3 winner Viljami Kutvonen, the Tamiya driver is now 5 points behind Coelho with two races remaining in which to reverse that deficit. With reigning champion Ronald Volker only fifth in Italy, his quest for a 6th consecutive title is looking increasingly difficult as he leaves 7-points behind Coelho.

Mugen MRX6 low friction pulleys & 8mm body mounts

Coming from Mugen Seiki and made for the MRX6 1/8th nitro on-road car are a low-friction belt pulley set and new heavy-duty aluminium front body mounts. Starting with the belt pulleys, the 10-piece set uses a new material that reduces the friction between the belts and the pulleys for improved drivetrain efficiency and thus better acceleration, top speed and mileage. The package includes a full set of front, centre and rear pulleys and it is a direct replacement for the stock parts. Also new are 8mm front aluminium body posts. Being larger in diameter than the stock parts they also feature a hard anodised surface for wear and finer spaced body clip holes for more precise body height adjustments.

Cody King takes JBRL Nitro Series Rd2 win

Round two of the popular JBRL Nitro Series was held at Thunder Alley R/C Raceway this past Saturday. As usual the event attracted both local talent and internationally experienced racers and in Expert Nitro Buggy it was Adam Drake who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers. In the A-main Cody King, coming from the 3 spot on the grid, had some good battles with Jeremy Kortz and Adam Drake after suffering from a couple of bobbles at the start. Cody would come back though and after Kortz and Drake made a few mistakes, Cody was able to gap the field and cruise to the win with Jeremy Kortz and Dayton Brown completing the top 3 result.
