Murray & Tinaglia successful at Schumacher Day Italy

Last week saw the 2016 Schumacher Day event held at the Miniautodromo Ca de Mandorli Circuit in Bologna, Italy. Saturday saw an open track day where racers had useful track time to perfect their car setup for this fast flowing circuit. After a nice sunny Saturday, Sunday morning came and racers were greeted with some rain. Sadly this caused some of the racers to leave, but for those who stayed, would later enjoy a dry track and more sunshine. With half of the qualifying run in wet conditions, it would be the pairing of Andy Murray in Open Modified and Alessio Tolomelli in Stock who would take the pole positions in their respective classes.

TRG114 v2 1/10th scale formula conversion kit

Coming soon from Japanese company TRG is the TRG114 v2 1/10th scale formula conversion kit for Tamiya F103 and F104 style cars. Based off of the TRG114 and coming with a range of option parts previously introduced with the Limited Edition kit, the v2 will feature an updated 2.4mm carbon fibre chassis with adjustable front flex system that utilised grub screws to stiffen the front part of the chassis just behind the servo and lower A-arms. Also included are updated 3.0mm lower arms, a 2.0mm upper plate as well as a carbon fibre roll damper T-plate, adjustable roll damper pistons, and the “one touch” centre shock droop adjustment nut. Different from the Limited Edition the v2 will include silver colour alloy parts such as the steering bellcranks and motor pod. The kit will become available in a 200mm wide foam and 180mm narrow rubber tyre variant soon.

SMJ Silver Line multi-car anti-roll bars

Japanese company SMJ have introduced their new Silver Line anti-roll bars. Available in the three diameters of 1.2mm, 1.3mm and 1.4mm the wires are designed in a way so that they are usable on a range of cars including the Xray T4’15 and Yokomo BD7-2016. Their over-sized design allows to cut them to size while the inner length, before they bend towards the roll bar links, makes them usable not only on the Xray and Yokomo cars but other kits too. The colour-coded roll bar wires are available separately and also as complete front or rear sets.

Tamiya Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS TT-01 Type-E

Tamiya have introduced the Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS race truck on the TT-01 Type-E 4WD chassis. The kit features an outstanding 4-piece race truck bodyshell with additional parts such as mirrors, engine top and more, making for a super-authentic look. The included 4WD shaft-driven TT-01 Type-E chassis comes with specially-designed wheels and 70mm diameter tyres to round out the scale appearance. The kit will hit stores around mid-July.

Conley, Collymore & Hardman win at Midwest Series Rd1

The first of six races for the Midwest Series kicked off in Toledo, Ohio, home of the One Eighth Racers of Toledo. The track was setup for a little practice on Friday but Saturday saw a little rain in the morning. The track crew did a great job with getting the track ready to go and with extended practice the race would cut out a qualifier. In 1/8th Open Ted Hammer (Shepherd) would take the TQ while in 200mm Sedan Diatta Collymore (Xray)came out fastest after the qualifiers.

Bertuzzi & Carbone score at Vedano race

The recent Vedano race in Italy saw Davide Bertuzzi taking the TQ in the Stock 13.5T Touring class while Davide Carbone came out fastest in the Formula category. In the Stock A-mains Davide Bertuzzi had to defend himself from teammate Andrea Valerio but at the end Bertuzzi would hold the upper hand to take the day’s win. In the Formula class Davide Carbone made a clean sweep by winning all three A-main legs.

Patrick Gollner wins at Austrian EP On-road Nats Rd2

The second round of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held at the Wr. Neustadt track in perfect weather conditions. The race schedule saw free practice on Friday, timed practice and the qualifiers on Saturday with the mains run on Sunday. In the Touring Modified class Patrick Gollner took the overall TQ from Mario Sowka and Manuel Gremlica. The finals then had Patrick taking an easy win in A1 but a mistake in A2 shifted the decision for the overall win to the third and final A-main in which he again came out fastest to grab the overall victory from Mario Sowka and Toni Eder.

Pro-Line All-Terrain Cooler conversion

Pro-Line have introduced the All-Terrain Cooler conversion for wheeled coolers. Conveniently pre-built and easy to install the conversion makes use of a set of Pro-Line 2.8″ Trencher tyres on heavy duty F-11 wheels for a cool look and a more pleasant ride. Included in the set are also an extra-long axle and steel hardware. The F-11 wheels spin on oil-impregnated ball bearings. The conversion will become available very soon.
