Oliver Mack wins Central German Championship Rd2

Oliver Mack wins Central German Championship Rd2

The second round of the Central German Championship was held at the MC Ettlingen track where the ENS Rd3 as well as the Euros A will be held later this year. Saturday started out with free practice in the morning and right from the start Shepherd factory racer Oliver Mack showed a great performance clocking the fastest lap times with team boss Patrick Schäfer being second fastest. As the weather forecast predicted a lot of rain for Sunday it was decided to run two qualifying rounds on Saturday afternoon. In the first round Oliver had a good run and he took the TQ nearly one lap ahead of fellow Shepherd racer Dennis Weihert. In the second round Oliver had a contact with another car and unfortunately these were the only two runs under dry conditions for the whole weekend so the Expert drivers decided to count the result after qualifying which handed Oliver the win over Dennis Weihert.

The infield is tight in configuration with a series of 180 degree hairpins followed by flowing mid speed curves. What makes this circuit unique is various elevation changes which tests even the best drivers in maintaining a consistent average lap time.
