The 2nd round of the Argentinian 1/8th off-road championships took place at the city of Cordoba. The TQ in the Pro Nitro Buggy class went to Agustin Cutini who was able to converse his performance in the final, allowing him to take the win in front of Nicolas Bregante and Lucas Pons in 3rd place respectively. By winning the first two rounds Agustin also took the 2014 championship early.

Axial have new 1.9″ crawler tyres as well as 1.9″ and 2.2″ rims available. Starting with the tyres, first up are the BFGoodrich Krawler T/A tyres, a scaled down version of the full-size rock-crawling championship winning tyre. They are moulded from R35 rubber and come with standard foams included. Also new is the Falken WildPeak M/T mud terrain tyre. Like the BFGoodrich the Falken resembles its full scale counterpart, it is made from R35 rubber, comes with inserts and it is designed for 1.9″ wheels.

Modelix Racing announce that former European Champion, three time Worlds finalist and multi-time Portuguese National Champion Miguel Matias has joined their racing team. Miguel will run Procircuit tyres and Ultimate Racing products and he will work closely with the Modelix R&D team on the further development of the Procircuit and Ultimate products.

JConcepts have new 4mm large flange serrated locknuts available. The high precision wheel nuts are designed with a large flanged area for additional support against the wheel and serrated for locking security while the large flange and clamping surface area supports the wheel and helps maintain geometry during flex and load. The larger area also provides more footing for the serrated area which provides a more comfortable lock-down. The lightweight locknuts are available in blue and black colour and can be used on a wide range of 1/10th cars, buggies and trucks.

RPM introduce this gear cover for the RC10, RC10 Classic and RC10T. Modelled after the 20+ years old original part, the 2014 variant features some improvements in design and functionality. First up are smoother contours and added clearance in several areas to make for an ever better fit while completely sealing the main gear and pinion from dust and debris. The cover also has a larger, taller area for bigger pinions than the stock gear cover and the spur area has been expanded to allow the use of the VTS slipper clutch from Associated. Coming in dyeable white colour for a nostalgic feel and including a soft gear cover plug for easy slipper nut access.

Following a brief introduction some days ago Scorpion Power Systems now have full details on their RS-3420 electric brushless motor available. Being a first for the company that is well known for its aircraft brushless motors, the motor sports some interesting features such as a patented screw-type rotor surface for increase flux density and maximised cooling. Also no plastic inserts are used to achieve maximum copper fill for the stator windings while high grade silicone steel and high purity copper wire allow for a high flux density and a minimal internal resistance. Other features include a CNC-machined 7075 heatsink can, sleeve-protected magnets, and a built-in temperature sensor for on-track monitoring with future Scorpion ESCs. The motors are built to comply with the IFMAR rules and are available as 4.5T to 8.5T modified and 10.5T to 21.5T stock variant.

Pro-Line have just released this sneaky teaser image of their forthcoming Mugen MBX-7 body. Given some of the details visible the body will sport the distinctive and quite edgy “Phantom” design meaning it will very likely be a cab forward offering with an aggressively styled rear end and other performance enhancing aero gizmos.
