Michal Orlowski joins Speed Passion factory team

Speed Passion have announced the addition of talented Polish driver Michal Orlowski to their factory team. Having already used the company’s products for a number of years as a privateer and he will now receive full factory support for his upcoming off-road and on-road campaigns. This is what Michal has to say about the deal:

I have used Speed Passion motors and speed controller for a long time. I knew that the Speed Passion products are reliable, and I am fast on the track using them. It is an honour for me to join the Speed Passion Factory Team. The same team where Marc Rheinard, Lee Martin, and other great names were racing with before me! I am looking forward to see the great results at great races with my Team Durango cars powered by Speed Passion electronics in the future.

Yokomo introduce the BD7-2014 touring car kit

Yokomo have introduced the next evolution of their 2013 ETS and EFRA Euros winning BD7 touring car kit. Based on the current kit the 2014 edition will only feature slight revisions of the highly successful design. Part of the new package is a redesigned motor mount for a more centralised motor position and the ability to use larger pinion gears for Stock class racing. Also new are hard anodised aluminium threaded shock bodies. The kit will become available as the standard blue colour scheme chassis and also as a limited edition Black Series kit with black anodised aluminium parts. Yokomo’s Ronald Völker and Yukijiro Umino are set to race the new car at this weekend’s 4th round of the Asia Onroad Championship at the Yatabe Arena with the kits hitting stores around Christmas.

Savöx SW-1210SG waterproof servo

Savöx Germany introduce the waterproof SW-1210SG standard size servo. Actually being slightly taller than what is considered “standard size” the 42mm high servo offers 20kg-cm of torque and a speed of 0.15s at 6.0V input. It features metal gears and a coreless motor making it ideal for all heavy duty applications such as monster trucks and generally all cars where torque is needed over speed and the slightly taller case is not an issue.

Italian RC Weapon 1/10 formula body shell

New from Italian RC comes the Weapon body shell for 1/10th formula chassis. The design of the shell allows for improved airflow towards the rear wing while the wide nose section is meant to produce a good amount of front end downforce as well. The clear body is made from 0.75mm thick polycarbonate, it comes without a driver’s helmet and fits most of today’s formula chassis.

MR..Roche T4 '14 graphite arm stiffeners

Made for the Xray T4 ’14 touring car kit are MR..Roche’s latest graphite option parts in the form of front and rear arm stiffeners. Available as 1.0mm, 1.5mm and 2.0mm variant the parts are a direct fit on the ’14 arms and reduce the flexibility of the wishbones for added adjustability and a more precise feeling of the car on very high grip surfaces. The stiffeners come as separate front and rear sets including the needed mounting hardware.

Birinyi & Toth win at Hungarian champs Rd3

The 3rd round of the Hungarian national championship was held at the RCArena carpet track in Budapest. In the 13.5T boosted class Janos Birinyi took TQ but he was closely chased by his top 5 rivals who all finished qualifying within a 5 second margin. In the finals, Janos was able to win from flag to flag handing him the win in front of Peter Miko and Peter Taal. In the modified class Barnabas Toth came in first with Viktor Juhasz and Zsolt Kalnay completing the podium.

Mustafa Alp wins at Legend4Ever race

The annual Legend4Ever race was held at the Team NCRC Arena in memory of Zeka Özteknik, a former Go Kart World Champion from Cyprus who also used to race RC cars. Nearly 50 drivers attended in the touring car modified and stock classes. Serpent driver Mustafa Alp soon became one of the favourites for the win in the modified class as he easily put himself on top of the time sheets in the controlled practice sessions and he also TQ’s every of the four qualifying rounds. The finals again saw Mustafa pulling away from the field easily but after winning the first A-main he scored a DNF in A2 due to an unforced driving error. In A3 the young man stayed calm again and easily won the final handing him the overall win in the modified class ahead of Halit Körpe and Erol Ucar.
