The second round of the Dutch 1/8th IC Track Nationals was held at the AMCA track in Apeldoorn over the weekend. The weekend kicked off with sunny weather on Saturday, however Sunday was mostly wet with especially the mains being held in rainy conditions. The win in the faster NK class went to Joey Sorber who came in 1st some five laps in front of Roy Bakker as Martin Zevenhoven rounded out the top 3 results. NK class final results: 1. Last weekend the opening round of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the popular Apeldoorn track. 42 driver signed in to race in the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Formula and a supporting 1/8th Electric class. In Touring Modified it was Sidney Blokker who set the pace followed by Rick v.d. Akker. Round 4 of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the MACH Heemstede track for the first time in a couple of years. In the premier NK class Roy Bakker was the man to beat and he would take the TQ from Joey Sorber in 2nd, Martin Zevenhoven 3rd and Robbin Hertong 4th. In the main final and following a somewhat chaotic start, Roy took the lead from Joey, Martin and Robin. The battle for the winner’s trophy was decided between Waldemar Liedke and Ingo Braun to turn out well for “Waldi”. For round three of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals Championships the drivers gathered at the famous Model Race Genk track in Belgium. Different from the previous round the weather was on the dry side of things apart from a few drops of rain on Sunday. Genk is known for its tricky traction conditions due to the near motocross track blowing dust on the asphalt surface but the club did its best to clean the track as good as possible. The second round of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the technical MBC de Sluis track in Gounda with 43 drivers attending. Nice Summer weather with temperatures of above 25 degree Celsius made for perfect racing conditions. The new, combined ABC final system again ensured nice battles during the finals as the drivers races more on their own level. In the premier NK class Rick Vrielijnck took a pretty easy win in the 30-minute A-main some three laps ahead of runner-up, Jeffrey Rietveld. The MAC de Baanbrekers track in Rucphen in the South of the Netherlands played host for last weekend’s round 2 of the national Nitro On-road Championship. Free practice on Saturday started out wet, but during the day the sun came out and the drivers were able to start finding a good setup for Sunday.
