This strange looking car is in fact the all new Inferno MP9 from Kyosho, the car that the company is confident can defend its World crown in the US this summer. The car, which is obviously still in prototype phase, was shown at this weeks Shizuoka hobby show in Japan, and to cover the parts that they want to keep secret they made this rather cool looking bodyshell. Kyosho Europe have been in contact to tell us about this years Kyosho Masters, a unique event that has been running since 1999. This year, the 10th Anniversary, will take place at Sucy-en-Brie near Paris from June 19th to 22nd, and will be open to the usual 3 classes – Elite, Expert and League, plus the ever growing Truggy class. Saturday evening’s drivers banquet will see live band, Endless Shiver, play, while the Japanese company will also be showing off the brand new Inferno MP9 1/8th scale buggy. Kyosho America now offers custom foam bumpers for the Inferno GT and are specially cut to fit the contours of the two most popular bodies, the Aston Martin DBR9 and the Ferrari F430. The high-density foam bumper replaces the smaller stock unit for additional chassis protection, and it better supports the nose of the detailed bodies, preventing vibration and scraping against the ground. Shown on the stand of Castle Creations at this weekends RCX show in Califronia, is the company’s latest product, a brushless system for 1/8th scale buggies. The prototype at the show is shown fitted to a Kyosho Inferno and not only includes the electrics, such as the speedo and the motor, but also comes with the 2 chassis side plates that incorporate mounts for the systems twin battery packs. Kyosho have been in touch to tell us that their team driver Ryan Lutz drove his Sirio-powered Inferno 777 WC buggy and Inferno ST-RR truck to wins in their respective classes during the 13th Annual Midwest Nitro Champs at the popular CRCRC facility last weekend. Lutz TQ’ed the truggy class and, even with two lengthy pit stops to repair some body damage, led the last 60 laps of the main to take a decisive victory. In the 1:8 buggy class, Lutz qualified sixth which meant he had a tough task ahead if he hoped to sweep both 1:8 classes, however…

The organisers of the 3rd Annual Kyosho US Open Sedan Championships have been in touch to let everyone know about this event which will be run from the 11th – 13th of April. Held at the Kissimmee R/C Raceway in Florida, they have already confirmed that both last years Champions, Chris Tosolini in Factory class and Chris Lefrebve in Open class will return to defend their titles. Kyosho has expanded its line of performance accessories for the Inferno GT sedan with the release of some CNC machined aluminium front hub carriers and rear uprights. The C-hubs and rear uprights have been blue anodised and are machined from aircraft-grade aluminum for extra durability with both products coming supplied with stainless steel hingepins and e-clips, wile the rear uprights feature molded bearing sleeves for perfect bearing alignment.
