Atomic Carbon Ultima RB5 shock towers

UK based carbon fibre specialists Atomic Carbon have announced the release of these new Kyosho Ultima RB5 shock towers. Made from 4mm carbon fibre these front and rear shock towers have been developed in conjunction with Team oOple team driver Stu Wood.

Stu using the atomic carbon shock towers managed to qualify 7th out of 130 drivers, at the recent BRCA national held at Bury Metro and this is the 1st time in 15 years that a Kyosho 2wd car has made a BRCA national A final.

Zhan Wei wins Rd3 of Chinese Nationals

This weekend saw the 3rd round of the Chinese Nationals held under extreme heat at the B.M.W. track, 200km from Hong Kong. Qualifying saw Zhuang Hong Yi take the TQ spot but in the race it was young driver Zhuan Wei, with his Kyosho MP777, who started form 4th place, that took the lead after 20 minutes and went on to dominate the rest of the final. Kuang Jia Yi, racing for Team Himoto, took the second spot ahead of Teng Wei Liang in 3rd place with his Nanda NRB-3.

Wayne Mah wins CORCS series Rd2

We only just reported on the first round of the CORCS series this week and already we have a report from the 2nd round which was run at the Red Deer RC club in warm conditions. Buggy qualifying saw the Xray of Wayne Mah, carry his top form forward from round 1 of the series to claim the TQ for this class and also claim the top spot in truggy too. In the buggy final Wayne had a bad start and was last after the start following a crash meaning he had to get his head down and work his way back to the front, which he did, and only after the then leader lost drive could he secure the win. In the truggy class, he wasnt so lucky, having lead the race for a long time he damaged this XT8 after after landing badly, which ended his race.

Ian Haley wins the Top End Challenge

Ian Haley wins the Top End Challenge

Rube Dude are reporting on this weekends 2007 Top End Nitro Challenge that took place at the OCR Raceway and attracted a large number of off road racers, all looking to get their hands on the large 1st place purse. In the end, after 3 nights of Nitro Buggy action, it was Ian Haley that took the $3000.00 cash prize in first place with 158 laps, Ash Frensham $750.00 cash in second on 154 laps, and taking the $250.00 third place spot on the podium Tony Knauth with 153 laps.

DuraTrax have announced the release of the new Raze ST RTR stadium truck, which is based on the companies popular Raze nitro buggy. This 1/8th scale 4wd truck boasts lots of upgrades included as standard that make it a terrific value with plenty of option parts for even greater performance. The Raze ST includes a SuperTigre G-27CS 4.4cc racing engine with adjustable engine mount, race-legal (150cc) fuel tank with flip-top and built-in filter, heavy-duty 4mm aluminum shock towers, pre-glued soft off-road tires with foam inserts, molded chassis side guards and an aluminum racing tuned pipe.

Wayne Mah wins CORCS series Rd1

Xray are reporting on their site from round 1 of the CORCS Region 5 series that was held last weekend in Edmonton, Canada. In the buggy class it was Xray racer Wayne Mah who set the TQ in cold conditions on Saturday and he also managed to TQ the truggy class too, in his first event with the new XT8. In the 45 minute buggy final Wayne, and team mate Cory, lead the field for the whole race with Mah eventually taking the chequered flag for the win, 25 seconds ahead of Cory in 2nd. In the truggy class it was again Mah that took the win, despite his car flaming out and requiring a new plug which dropped him a lap down.

Thailand Buggy Party Round 4

Last weekend saw the 4th round of the Thailand Buggy Party championship held on the grass surfaced R.C. Mania Track. Qualifying saw Kyosho racer Panit B. take the pole position for the final ahead of former National Champion Yuthana D. driving a Hobao in 2nd. In the final Panit B. could easily lead from the start but a timing error at 18 minutes meant the race had to be stopped and a second part of the final run for 12 minutes, with the results added together. This didnt seem to affect the outcome and it was man of the day Panit B. that took the win by nearly a lap from Hongnor racer Meen V. in 2nd while Yuthana D. claimed 3rd.

Futaba Nitro Challenge – Race Announcement

Futaba Nitro Challenge

The organisers of this years Futaba Nitro Challenge were in touch to let everyone know that the dates for this great event have been finalised, with the race set to take place on the 19th – 23rd of September. As with last years event, this years Nitro Challenge will be run on the HX Raceway in Bossier City, Louisiana and is expected to draw a large crowd, all hoping to get a piece of the action that saw Taylor James walk away last year with $2000 in prize money.
