Horizon Off road Shootout – Announcement

…call all of the racing action. Classes for 2009 Shootout include 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Nitro Truggy, and new for 2009, the addition of an 1/8 Electric Buggy class. The Schedule will see Friday as an open practice day with the first of 3 rounds of qualifying starting at 10am on Saturday morning. Sunday will be reserved for mains only in an effort to get everyone on the road and home at a decent time. Entries will be limited to 200 and are expected to fill up fast. 2009 CanAm Challenge & Midwest Series Rd1

…together with the Masters being scoring series points separate from the open guys. In the 1/8th final, pole sitter Josh Cyrul (Shepherd) led with Paul Ciccarello following closely behind. When the chequered flag fell, Josh won by 4 seconds over Paul with Brian Berry completed the top three. Eli Ezrow (Shepherd) grabbed 5th overall in 1/8th open but was the highest Masters racer and took the Masters win at the first event of the season. Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series

…Saskatchewan took home second, and Dale Ruptash followed up in third. X-Games – Hot Bodies Cyclone 12X

…Spec speedo came into play. This time we soldered a relatively mild Team Orion 6.5T motor to it. Steering duties are taken care of by a JR/Graupner DS3781 servo together with a Futaba R604FS receiver. Power came from Orcan VTEC 4600 cells, traction and site bite was provided by Jaco purple/lilac tryes up front and pinks at the rear.
