Another easy TQ for Coelho in Q2

Bruno Coelho claimed another straight forward TQ run in the second round of qualifying at this year’s TITC.  Having opened his title defence with the fastest time in Q1, the Xray driver again had a similar time advantage only this time over Naoto Matsukura.  In terms of the Top 5 times, the result was almost identical to Q1 with only Matsukura and Infinity team-mate Akio Sobue switching positions with Alexander Hagberg and Marc Rheinard repeating their Q1 positions.  Naoki Akiyama would post the 6th fastest time to be the best Yokomo as Ronald Volker continues to struggle while Serpent’s Vitkor Wilck made up for a DNF in the first round to record a P7 ahead of Meen Vejrak and Volker.

Xray NT1 XCA nickel-coated 26mm clutch bell

Xray have announced the release of their nickel-coated XCA aluminium lightweight 26mm high-dynamic clutch bell for the NT1 200mm nitro kit. Machined from Swiss 7075-T6 aluminium, the clutch bell saves about 57 percent of weight compared to the standard steel part, significantly reducing the rotational mass without sacrificing strength or durability.

Speedmerchant New School reactive frontend kit

Coming from Speedmerchant is the New School reactive frontend kit tailored to high traction black carpet racing. The kit comes with the new 3-D-printed suspension blocks that the team have been testing for the past season with great results. The revised suspension geometry shines on the high traction black carpet found throughout the U.S. and the kits include everything needed to replace the upper arms on Speedmerchant’s regular New School suspension. This way, drivers have both complete set-ups, and can swap out the solid to the new reactive upper arms in no time at all. The conversion works on both 12th and World GT-R cars as the overall feel is a little less touchy, easier to drive on centre, less tippy, and more steering in the middle/out of a turn. The team guys still prefer to run the stock New School suspension on their RoadKills, because of its more aggressive nature and the way it attacks a corner. The standard New School is also a little better on the less tacky grey Ozite floor.

McPappy Racing pan car damper emulsion conversion

McPappy Racing have introduced an emulsion conversion for small pan car bladder-type shock absorbers. The set will convert small 7mm pan car bladder shocks, such as the Silva HSP2, Xray X12, Hot Bodies Cyclone 12, CRC Encore Micro shock, etc., into an emulsion shock. Emulsion shocks provide instant dampening whereas a bladder shock has a little more springy feel to it due to the bladder movement. This will work on any bladder shock with a 6.8mm to 7.0mm diameter piston and cap threads no larger than 9.5mm. To use, simply remove the bladder, replace with the emulsion conversion and O-ring, then replace the shock cap.

Coelho TQs opening qualifier at TITC

Chasing his third consecutive victory at Asia’s most famous event, Bruno Coelho has got TITC 2018 off to the best possible start backing up his huge practice pace advantage with a TQ this morning in the opening round of qualifying.  In Bangkok for the past week in preparations for the 16th running of the race, the Xray driver was quickest from Japanese Infinity pairing Akio Sobue and Naoto Matsukura, his advantage over Sobue just shy of 1.8-seconds.  Coelho’s team-mare Alexander Hagberg would opening the 5 rounds of qualifying with the fourth fastest time ahead of fellow European Marc Rheinard while local hero Meen Vejrak led the Yokomo challenge completing the Top 6.  Finding himself in the second fastest heat after seeding World Champion and former TITC winner Ronald Volker would get only a 9th for Q1.
