Unfortunately during the third qualifying round of the Stock class the heaven opened its gates and it was decided to run the third round of the Modified class on Sunday morning. Thankfully Sunday started out dry but it was pretty windy but that further helped to dry the track so the event would go ahead as planned. Zsolt Bajusz wins at RCProf Summer Series Rd5

Zsolt Bajusz wins at RCProf Summer Series Rd5

Round five of the RCProf Summer Series was held at the MAMSE outdoor track with the 13.5T Touring class being the most popular category. Hot weather was predicted for the race day and so everyone was eager to grab the TQ in the first of the three qualifiers as the grip level would decrease over the day. Zsolt Bajusz made the best out of a new set of Rex34 tyres and he would take the TQ in round one and with it the pole position for the triple A-mains as no one was able to get near his time in the following two qualifying rounds. The opening A-main then saw a close fight between Zsolt and the second placed driver with loads of position changes happening. At the end of leg one Zsolt held the upper hand an scored the win. A2 then had Zsolt cruising to the leg and the overall win and he is now in a good position to secure the overall title at the forthcoming sixth and final round of the RCProf Summer Challenge. Second at round five was Gabor Forrai, Janos Birinyi completed the top 3 result in the 13.5T class.

Patrick Folman takes Danish Modified TC title

The final round of the Danish National Electric Touring Car series was held at the Odense R/C Minirace track. Saturday was devoted to practice and everybody was trying to find a setup for a track that started out dusty with low grip, but ended up with medium grip. Much focus was on the Modified class and before the final round several drivers had changed sponsors, teams and cars. This was going to be the first race for Patrick Folman, now driving for Schumacher with the Mi5Evo, Frederik Hovgaard with his new Danish-developed Gizmo touring car, and Gustav Pind driving the Yokomo BD7. During Saturday’s practice Frederik Hovgaard demonstrated some really fast lap times with his Gizmo while the developers of the car were at the track to support Frederik. Only Patrick Folman could match the pace and behind the two Frederik Broløs Mikkelsen and Gustav Pind were working hard to catch up. Further down the field Stefan Finnich (Xray), Lars Holm (Yokomo) and Anders Dyrlund (TOP) were also in the mix.
