Coming from Xray and made for the XB8 nitro and XB8E E-buggy is the lightweight High Speed body shell. Made from high-quality Lexan material the body offers increased rotation and speed in corners all while creating less chassis roll and a more aggressive handling. The body comes clear, with a protective overspray film and pre-cut window masks.

Prostar R/C 8ight 4.0 carbon nylon pills

Prostar R/C have introduced a set of carbon nylon pills for the TLR 8ight 4.0. They have been designed to replace the stock and often sloppy inserts which are the main issue why hinge pins are bending. Prostar have made them from a special carbon nylon material for durability and strength and the set includes eight 0 degree, four 0.5 degree and four 1.0 degree inserts all of which are of a tight fitting design.

Losi Rock Rey 1/10th 4WD rock racer kit

Coming from Losi is the Rock Rey 1/10th 4WD rock racer kit. The kit variant of the company’s popular Rock Rey comes standard with a handful of option parts, allowing racers to customise the vehicle how they want as they have the complete freedom to accessorise and hop up the vehicle to their liking. With a new roll cage that resembles full-scale rock racers and its new front-end geometry, the changes add the needed handling for rock racing while taking advantage of the Baja Rey platform’s rear-loading battery and bottom-loading motor. The kit includes aluminium rear upper links and upper rod track mounts, as well as adjustable camber links and turnbuckles for the steering. For U4 racing, Losi includes a diff locker for the centre differential. Also part of the package are 2.2″x5.8″ Maxxis Creepy Crawler LT tyres and clear body panels to create custom paint jobs.

Ryan Lee teams up with RC Concept

RC Concept have announced the addition of Korean frontrunner, Ryan Lee to their team for 2017 and 2018. Ryan already successfully used the company’s engines at a recent race meeting that he used to win, and he hopes for more good results during his upcoming campaign that will includes appearances at all all major events in Korea, as well as the Neo18 in the UK, the IFMAR Worlds in Australia, and the Asian Fever race in Taiwan.

Picco V1 .21 Team Robert Batlle Edition engine

Picco have introduced their new V1 Team Robert Batlle Edition .21 nitro off-road engine. Born to commemorate the victory of the 2017 EFRA 1/8th Buggy European Championship, the engine sports advanced features such as a DLC-treated crankshaft, and a rear ceramic bearing. The low centre of gravity cooling head features a different colour scheme and is a tribute to European Champion Robert Batlle, while the 5-port cylinder sports an updated exhaust timing to achieve more response in the low to mid RPM range. The engine package is rounded out by a 2099 performance exhaust kit that features a front pressure nozzle in order to optimise fuel consumption and tuning.

Rusti Design chassis protector decals

French brand Rusti Design have introduced their new chassis protector decals. Sporting flashy Rusti Design graphics the pre-cut decals are available in eight different colour variants and for a huge range of brands and cars – including on-road, off-road and some vintage kits. Using the protractor skins will ensure a longer chassis plate life in abrasive track conditions and cooler looks when the car is upside down.

Kyle McBride clinches FEMCA Nitro Buggy title

The 2017 FEMCA 1/8th Off-road Championships took place at the MORBC track in Perth, Australia, host of the 2018 Worlds. More than 100 drivers attended the event and it was Australia’s Kyle McBride (Team Associated/Novarossi) who took the overall TQ courtesy of winning three of the six qualifiers. In the 60-minute Kyle was able to preserve his qualifying performance to take the title in front of Shane Kelly (TLR/Reds Racing) in 2nd place and Shin Adachi (Serpent/O.S.) in 3rd.

2017 BL-Cup finale – Report

The final round of the 2017 BL-Cup was held at the Mach-One track in Helmond, The Netherlands. Overnight rain had soaked the track already and a one hour rain shower during Sunday morning’s controlled practice made things even worse, which caused smaller or bigger problems for pretty much every driver. The qualifiers were run on a very wet circuit, in some spots the astroturf was even floated with water, but Wesley Wiertz managed to keep his car on the track to the qualifiers from Dick Doorn and Oscar Koot.
