Micha Widmaier wins German Nitro Buggy Nats Rd1

Round 1 of the German Nitro Buggy Nationals was held at the Ober Mörlen track this past weekend. Rain on Friday and Saturday was followed by a perfect day of racing on Sunday that was dominated by SWorkz’s Micha Widmaier who would take the win by almost a lap from Kyosho’s Aaron Münster 2nd and Alex Schmitt (HB Racing) 3rd. The second and final round of the championship will be held in two weeks time up north in Hamburg.

Ryan Cavalieri takes 2WD Mod SCT win at ROAR Nats

Last weekend’s 2017 ROAR 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals saw Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri taking the TQ in the 2WD Modified SCT class. Alex Kosciuszek and Spencer Rivkin (both Team Associated) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively and after the triple A-mains the top 3 would remain the same, with Ryan leading an AE top 3 with Alex and Spencer coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. TLR’s Dakotah Phend would be the best of the rest, matching his qualifying performance with a 4th place overall.

Elliott Boots wins BRCA Nitro Buggy Nationals Rd4

Swansea And District Model Car Club held round 4 of the BRCA Rally Cross Nationals this past weekend. Kyosho’s Elliott Boots took the overall TQ on Saturday courtesy of three round TQs. Despite being late for his semi-final Elliott was able to win his semi with nine seconds over the leader and the main final then was again highlighted by some issues for Elliott with the fuel tank causing inconsistent fuel pressure at times. Nevertheless the Kyosho driver was able to bring home the win, scoring valuable points for the championship. Infinity’s Lee Martin came in 2nd from TLR’s Michael Lewis in 3rd. Going into the final round next month Lee Martin now leads the championship by just one point from Elliott Boots.

Hudy 14-20mm adjustable ride height gauge

Hudy have introduced their all-new adjustable ride height gauge for 1/10th scale buggies. Offering a common design, the gauge has an adjustment range of 14mm up to 20mm with laser-etched markings highlighting the 1mm increments for precise adjustment of the vehicle’s ground clearance. The CNC-machined tool is made from black anodised aluminium for wear and looks.

Ty Tessmann sweeps ROAR 1/10th Off-road Nationals

The 2017 ROAR 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals were held at The Track in Gaithersburg, Maryland last weekend. 270 entries made for competitive racing in the eight Modified and Stock classes. The traditional off-road classes of 2WD Mod Buggy, 4WD Mod Buggy and Mod Racing Truck were swept by Xray’s Ty Tessmann who won all but three qualifiers to take dominant TQs.

Samix SCX10 II centre brass driveshafts

Coming from Samix and made for the Axial SCX10 II trail truck are brass centre driveshafts. The set compromised of outer brass couplers, weighing in at 79g, and the inner brass sliders, with a weight of 49g, with both adding valuable weight that can be beneficial to improve climb performance while adding rigidity and durability. The parts can be mixed and matched with the standard composite plastics in order to achieve the desired overall weight or weight distribution.

VRP B6 gullwing front shock tower

VRP have released their updated 2018 version gullwing front shock tower for the Team Associated B6. With the growing trend towards carpet and turf tracks the tower was re-designed to feature a double bevelled edge design that is less prone to dig into the track surface. Made from American-grade 7075 aluminium, the shock stay is strong yet only weighs 9.6g. The tower comes black anodised and with silver edge details.

JQRacing Grey Edition eCar 1/8th E-Buggy kit

JQRacing have briefly introduced their forthcoming Grey Edition eCar 1/8th electric buggy kit. The vehicles utilises the Black Edition front and rear assemblies attached to the White Edition eCar chassis. The only different on the chassis is the stronger front centre dogbone, thicker than the original steel dogbone. The kit is set for a release by the end of the month and available for pre-order now.
