Kyosho V-One RRR Evo 2

Kyosho have released information about their latest Kyosho V-One RRR 1/10th scale 200mm, the Evo 2. Designed to be a refinement rather than an all new design, the designers have worked on performance, stability and ease of maintenance. The main chassis plate is completely new with a narrower front end, while the radio plate has been stiffened up to improve drivability. The car also features the 2 speed gearbox from the Evolva M3, a new thicker revised rear shock tower and the rear of the car also sports longer arms to allow the use of 0-offset wheels.

Belgian EP Touring car Nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Belgian 1/10th scale EP on road Nationals was run last weekend on the short and technical outdoor track in Zwevegem. The event had 33 drivers racing in two classes, EFRA and Super Stock and the weather was very good, with sun and high temperatures all weekend. It was again a hard battle in the EFRA class which produced the third different winner in 3 rounds. The race was won by Benoit Thomaes with his Xray T2 008, just ahead of the late Koen Joosens with his Schumacher Mi3, while 3rd spot went to Olivier Bultynck with his Team Corally Phi. In the Super Stock class the overall winner was Urbain Swijsen with his Team Corally Phi, while 2nd went to Rico Claeys with his Hot Bodies and 3rd going to Thomas Stockman with his Team Associated TC5.

Grimm wins German West EP TC Rd1

Last weekend saw the first round of the West Germany Electric touring car qualifying group run at the large MCC Bad Breisig/Rhein outdoor track. Xray team driver Christopher Grimm, who was using his new Speed Passion combo of GT Speedo and DMC legal Ultra Sportsman 9.5 BL motor, took the win ahead of current outdoor Champion Patrick Pasch in 2nd and Andreas Weyhoven in 3rd.

Daniel Tomaschko joins Merlin Fuel

Spanish company, Merlin Fuel, have announced that top Austrian racer Daniel Tomaschko has joined their team. Winner of the recent European 1/8th ‘B’ Championships warm-up race in Kirchberg, the Serpent driver will use the company’s fuel and other products for the rest of the year.

Buenos Aires Metropolitan 1/10th Champs

The latest round of the 1/10th scale Buenos Aires Metropolitan Championship took place at Hernan Matticoli track last Sunday, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sebastián Recio took the pole position followed by his Kyosho team mates Juan Pablo Golobic in 2nd place and Hernán Lebenbaun in 3rd place. The race followed the same pattern as qualifying and in the end the win went to Recio, while Golobic took 2nd with 3rd place going to Hernán Lebenbaun.

Andy Ledgard win Peru Nats Rd1

The first round of the Peruvian National Championships was held at the Jockey Club track in the country’s capital, Lima. The race consisted of 2 heats of 20 min each and Team Magic racer Andy Ledgard won both heats. The first heat was a very tight battle until the 5 minutes mark were Andy began to speed up the pace and won with no problem. The 2nd heat was a closer race as the last 10 minutes Andy´s car was stuck in 1st gear but he held on for the win and took the overall from Leonidas Ponce in 2nd and Gabril Perez in 3rd.

Wischnewski wins Euro ‘B’ 1/10th Champs

The European ‘B’ Championships for 1/10th scale 200mm took place last week at the beautiful Ampuis track in France. After some rain in the practice days, qualifying got underway and it was French racer Michael Derderian, driving a Serpent, that claimed pole position from Italian Team Magic racer Mario Spiniello in 2nd followed by the Xray pairing of Thomas Eytard and Guido Barbera. The start of the main final saw Mario Spinello jump straight into the lead, but dropped back after some issues. Thomas Eyard was fastest in the final and set a new track record, but after serious interference problems his chances for the title disappeared, while around the same time that Xray driver Dirk Wischnewski was hit by another car, losing him 1 lap on the leader. Having opted to not change tires in the final, Dirk managed to work his way to the front of the field, where he could extend his lead to 1 lap, taking the victory in front of Bougnoteau in 2nd place, and Thomas Eytard in 3rd spot.

Winik takes Rd2 of Brazilian Nationals

Winik takes Round 2 of Brazilian Nationals

The second round of the Brazilian National Championships was held over the weekend at the Carrefour track in São Paulo. Eventual winner, Serpent 720 driver, Henrique Winik, who started from 5th on the grid, was able to set a new track record on his way to the win in the main final. Opting to not change tyres during the 45 minute race he took the win by 2 laps from Chung Min Hsu in 2nd, with Gabriel Brito in 3rd.
