Ronald Volker wins European TC Champs

Ronald Volker wins European TC Champs

This years European Championship for Touring cars held in Montbrison France is over, and it is Ronald Volker that has taken the overall win for Hot Bodies. The first final saw a win for the pole man, and Xray driver, Steven Weiss, followed home closely by former World Champion Marc Reinhard for Tamiya, while the 3rd spot went to Volker. The 2nd final was the same 3 drivers at the front but in a different order, with Volker managing to squeeze past Weiss for the lead which he held till the end in front of Weiss in 2nd and Reinhard in 3rd. The 3rd leg of the final would be the decider and it was Volker once more that made his way to the front to take the lead after Weiss left a small gap which was enough to let the Hot Bodies driver through. Weiss proceeded to follow to try and regain the lead but a mistake cost him several positions and eventually allowed Reinhard up into 2nd and Groskamp into 3rd with Weiss demoted to 4th. This final result gave Volker and Hot Bodies the win, with Weiss in a hard fought 2nd for Xray and Reinhard for Tamiya in 3rd taking the final podium spot.

While the modified and 27T guys were racing in London, the 19T Super Stock racers were in Wrexham for the 5th round of their championships, so far dominated by Corally racer Chris Kerswell. This event would be no exception with Kerswell taking the pole position for the race ahead of Schumacher racer, and round 4 winner, Dewi Jones in 2nd and another Corally racer Christopher Delves in 3rd. In the finals it was Kerswell that took the leg 1 win ahead of Jones, with Daniel Fallows, racing a Schumacher, in 3rd. The top 3 drivers were the same for the 2nd leg but the top 2 order was reversed, with Jones taking the win and Kerswell 2nd, a tie break needed to seperate the two with Kerswell taking the overall win and with it this years title. Local racer Jones came home in 2nd while Fallows, with a consistent run in both legs, rounded off the podium in 3rd.
